When using a giant potion I threw the hammer. I then shrunk and grabbed the flying hammer, but it was still giant. I could fight with it and store it without the weapon ever returning to normal. It was really fun, but I thought I should find a way to report it. 
Others in the game couldn’t see it apparently.
(I’m using a rift and the game is through steam if that matters.)
