Get rid of foil and bring back the Red Tails. The people have spoken

also going to throw out the fact that the assumption that only 1% of the player base is going to get hard mode gear is flat out wrong.

the current active playerbase has not peaked above 100 in a long time, and the current average peak time player count is around 80. meaning that if only on average when a team of 10 completes a raid they make up over 10% of the total online player count

as for not concurrent average but actual total active players %, there would need to be 1000 players who consistently log on for it to be 1% of the player base who does hard mode. BUT thats only if one group is capable of completing hard mode. there are probably around 50 people who can do hardmode successfully(50 people without including other people being carried through the raid), meaning that there would need to be 5000 people at endgame to make these 50 people 1% of the player base.
I would be extremely surprised if there was more than 200 people regularly doing endgame(the number is probably sub 100) meaning that at the highest 25% of the population are able to complete hard mode.

so, in conclusion, 25%(atleast) now have no reason to do hardmore other than invisible stats :+1:

I’m only doing the HM raids to hang out with my friends. I couldn’t care less about stats, the raid doesn’t feel as epic as the original OrbusVR raid did, the gear doesn’t even look cool, etc. There is literally nothing keeping me playing the game besides the friends that I have made playing it, and it really makes me sad to say this (because of my love for the original), but I just don’t like playing the game anymore. When a new VRMMO comes out the player base is most likely going to plummet unless some major changes are made, but I just don’t see it happening (because people have been voicing their opinions on a lot of the things that suck about the game right now and it seems that it has all been ignored).

The good thing is there won’t be another vrmmo for at least a few years, so the devs here have a while to come up with stuff people enjoy

I like the foil look, but that’s because I generally try to look as ridiculous as possible

This game has gone to hell real quick. WTF happened?

I think you overreacting here

I wouldn’t say the game has gone to hell…

But I can sum it up for you in 3 points:

  • The veteran players for the most part have run out of things to do and there is no tough progressive things to play with (other than hard mode dungeons at the moment) which the veteran players have expressed dismay for the extrinsic incentive to do it.

  • New players have no clear direction when getting in to the game and no clear progression incentives to continue playing.

  • a lack of ‘delighters’ throughout the game. Everything largely focuses on the bare bone basics of an MMO and improvements are more to fix those bare bone basics. (search kano model to see what I mean by delighters).

Sorry to feel against this, but scheduling a 6+ hour day session of trying to burn through all content as quick as possible with a team of players who already played for years and are only drawn from the whole game of best players is not really making it possible to keep up with ‘challenging’ content.

I modified my answer. We still haven’t properly ‘cleared’ hardmode imo and we do enjoy doing the content… Its just that everything else is ‘completed’ at the moment pretty much.

Here would be my wishes. Riley Online LLC will release:

  • ‘infinity’ scaling on dungeons

  • Add dynamism to dungeon generation

  • Add clear progression indicators to newly released gear (color changes, additional spikes or whatever).

  • Add some new depth to the overworld ‘village building’ through quests stuff.

  • Improve the compass system for navigating around (I mean I built an interactive map in a couple days of work. How tough can it be to improve on ? )

  • Add miniboss spawns in overworld.

All of these features are designed for constant progression for players as well as a literal sense of ‘direction’.

the problem isnt that veterans ran out of things to do. we havent had things to do for months, but what changed now was we are realizing there isnt much too look forward to, because after shards were done in the first week we waited for raids, once normal mode raids were here we realized they were eh, but waited for hard mode raids to give us the challenge we were looking for, but they are here and not only do we get nothing new with it, but it isnt a challenge like expert was

now we must simply wait for re re born with the latest version of unity to fix everything

I couldnt say it better

Well expertmode was harder in the old game for very specific reasons:

  • we were all worse at the game
  • boss 2 was tuned to impossible and took cheating to win
  • boss 3 had a mechanic in it so hidden that it took a while to figure out
  • boss 4 forced an amount of ppl of a class that almost never was available.
  • although boss 5 was a challange, if we talking our current skill level after the impossible bugs got removed that boss was as easy as things are now.

Also:

  • the fights are shorter
  • there is no lagg dps check anymore xD
  • the bugs got fixed way faster

This would be really cool, but could be an issue for gear scaling unless it’s just about accomplishments. And then someone will complain that it’s not giving progressively better gear.

Do this and a group of people will complain that there is an RNG aspect. I think it could be done in the Battlegrounds, but dungeons would be more difficult to generate and maintain if there was dynamism here.

I agree 100% with this. Having progression even if it’s not necessarily ‘cooler’ would be good. Perhaps add rings or bands of design and increase with level? I.e. Raid Normal gear gets no bands, Raid Hard gear gets some added design. If people don’t like it, they don’t have to wear it, but it’ll differentiate the armor better than foil would.

I do wish this took longer to do. I completed all my village building ones in an afternoon. The quests do seem very expandable, though. Maybe make the next round more of a medium-term feature? Something similar to the DTR credit?

This is already on their ‘upcoming’ list, if you recall.

Aberrations or old-style monsters would be really cool and fun.

You know what would be really cool with infinite dungeons. That the gear has somewhere a small number showing the shard number of it. So there is no need to keep designing stuff for the players on infinity. Because you get infinity higher numbers that you can show off.
