I can see there has been threads about this in the past, however the most recent one closed 2 days ago.
I had a case of being permanently stuck in combat today. I don’t recall exactly what i was fighting, but being a new player it wasn’t anything fancy. I believe it was stags or kelpies at the time.
Anyway, quitting and logging back in solved the issue. I am only posting this thread is here to report that the issue is still present.
