Ranger charge shot question

does anyone know the implementation of charge shot? Is it a multiplier of your current shot’s damage or is it just added bonus damage?

Trying to determine if it is better to use piercing arrow on a charge or after the charge. Obviously if it is a multiplier, using the charge on the piercing would be better, as it would multiply the piercing arrow’s extra damage. If it is just a bonus damage added on, then it would be better to use piercing after charge, for the extra 5% damage from the charge attack)

They are additive. If you leveling, you may want to do a Charged poison then piercing. That will get your poison ticking earlier.
