So lost - where do I get my first rune?

Hi! Obviously a new player. I decided to go Runemage hearing it was the most difficult. However in the newbie area, I can’t find anything - quest or otherwise, that tells me what rune to draw for a spell … how to get those runes … anything.

Only thing I can find online is how I cant be a runemage right away and i have to do a quest. However, obviously, that isn’t true anymore.

What am I missing? Frustrated, but still having fun.

Go inside Highsteppe. There are rune pillars in Fellowship Court. Putting your journal to/ through the pillar will add the pages into your journal
