Dragon racing, can't find out how to start flying

I recently played orbus reborn and I could never figure out how to fly a dragon in the dragon racing thing. Others have figured it out, but perhaps it should be more obvious for other players.

Throw a pet treat to your dragon and the race will begin. It should be posted on the signs outside of Sicilus’ room
