Yes, there’s still a couple of kinks to iron out. But wow I love this game, really good job on it. I look forwards to seeing the next iteration. I’m off to bed (It’s 11 here and I have work in the morning) but good luck with the rest of the Stress test.

Really loving this so far, just a few things I want to comment.

  1. Here are a couple of error logs. http://www.filedropper.com/errorlogs One of them happened as I killed a monster, the other happened seemingly randomly.

  2. When I logged back in after the random one my character file was gone and replaced with the training dummy (I think?) I looked similar, had no inventory or character level or anything.

  3. PLEASE! We need Dual Wielding lol.

It’s the same as the 0.30 client only it doesn’t broadcast or receive voice chat. Just want to confirm that’s the issue before I dive way into it. So let me know if that fixes the crashes or not.

I notice some things :

  • Locomotion : I love the fact that we can mix TP and trackpad movement, but if I use too much the TP the trackpad doesn’t work any more. Also using only the TP to follow people using only the trackpad show that they go quickier than your TP.

  • Rune Mage : Really awesome, I love it so much. Seriously this is the first game (well maybe second if you count magicka) where being a mage is not a no brainer of clicking a spell : you have to actually write it and control it. I LOVE IT. But would be great if we could have some book on the empty hand with speel drawn on it. instead of having to go check the guide.

  • Is there severall instances? We were at the same place with my friend but we did not saw each others.

-How to use the column? I tried drawing the symbols but it did not worked (near the water). I succesfully activated the three rocks with other players to make the giant sarlaac plant appeared but those column stay a mystery for me.
I found two of them.

  • The hands : They are way too big, it’s kind of like GORN hands ahah. Also they seem to not be fitting the Vive Wand. Like they would be rotated 90 degres on the right.

Also : Is there a way to apply for further alpha testing after the stress test?

You can’t locomotion when in combat.

There is also a bug where you get stuck in combat and can fix it by using the menu “life raft” icon.

I must have been stuck on combat mod then, the life raft icon, is that the last but one? right before the cross?

I was able to test the game for about an hour today. Good Start! I can see the dedication you have for this game. You’re going to go far.

However, I had 3 crashes during the period of testing the game using only the .30 client. I can send an output.log, however I don’t know where it is stored nor where to send it. (Or if one was even generated)

The trackpad locomotion would suddenly stop working for what seems like random intervals. There was no correlation between where I was in the world to where I wasn’t. Sorry, I know that doesn’t help much.

One suggestion I have is to change the look of the regen and heal bullets for the musket. While I understand the differences in the looks, they are difficult to identify during movement/combat.

Again, great job, I look forward to helping with the game further. This is very promising and honestly the most ambitious game yet for VR.

One of the shards was getting really overloaded with “cruft” so I restarted the server. Running for 3 hours between restarts isn’t a bad place to be for today.

I have little issue with sound. After a little bit of experimenting i found that the sound worked just fine when i had headphones plugged right in to the vive, but if i used my wireless headset (Corsair Vengeance 2100) the sound was really distorted and fuzzy.

I’m having very consistent crashing. I attempted the no voice version .30 you posted not to long ago, but that didn’t seem the make a difference. Here is the output_log: http://pastebin.com/sJ8XvZVq

Notable experience mentions from ver. 2.0. 4 hours of gametime:

  • The game would suddenly loose connection to the server a lot and only a full reboot helped the problem. It straight up crashed twice.
    -Sometimes when I logged back in all of my items would be missing and I would be level 0, full, sometimes multiple reboots required.

  • Twice locomotion just stopped working all together, full reboot required.

  • Occasionally loot would bug and not allow me to collect it.

  • Hella fun, enjoyed my time with it and cant wait for more!

Thanks Riley, I lasted about 15 minutes in the “no voice” client before it crashed. I’ve had to split the output log into 3 because of the size. - and I can only post 2 at a time because I’m new to Orbus!

Just played for about an hour… really like the game. However I am noticing an issue with not being able to pick up bags. As soon as I pick it up, it just disappears…and as soon as I release my grip, it drops to the ground. Was not able to put the items into the inventory by moving the invisible “bag” to my chest.

Love the game and the physical nature of the attacks. Some issues:
Bags disappear when I grip them and then when I release my grip, they reappear and fall to the ground. while holding the invisible bag, I can’t just hold it to my body, it doesn’t interact at all while invisible.

When I go to the stairs close to town and teleport through the blue box, my teleport grid is very limited and I can’t walk down that path-like area, I have to follow the right side(in relation to coming down the stairs) and then teleport back to the left to get towards the center.

can’t wait for the real game.
