Planned Reborn Resets

Making this thread mainly to find out what will be resetting when Reborn comes as I’ve heard some things being reset/Wiped like Items, Gear, Highscores, Etc But I couldn’t find any information on this. If any of the amazing Orbus staff has any information on this I and others will be grateful!

• Inventory, levels, achievements, Dram will carry over.

Minor : Do we get to keep our dram going to the new world?

Yes. Also to note although I don’t think anyone has hit it yet, the cap on Dram is currently 2.5 million.

So your characters and all of their progress, levels, achievements, inventory, etc. will all be coming along for sure.

• Current Gear will be replaced by levelling gear, and later be added as transmog options, tradu mines and above gear will be transmog options later, capes will be right away, more info later on what we need to do with breaking gear down and using tokens

One thing I do want to note on the gear, due to the new Avatar system we are rolling out, the current existing gear will not work. So, when the expansion first launches, you’ll have different gear (depending on what you had before). For those of you who have put in time to earn the higher-tier gear items (Shard Dungeons and Raid gear), that will be coming back as a transmog option for the new expansion, but it will take us a little bit of time to make that available. So just a heads up on that. You’ll want to be earning new gear anyway as you make your way from 20-30, but we want to reward those who put in the time and effort to earn that previous gear, so we want to give you the option of using it as a transmog look if you want.

Hey Riley. Just how much of the transmog gear will we keep in reborn? Do I get the entire wardrobe I collected? Do I need to start farming to fill it?

So, I can definitely guarantee anything from the Tradu Mines and up will be coming back as transmog styles armor-wise. It’s likely we will also be able to bring back the leveling gear but I don’t think it’s going to be as much of a priority.

Weapon-wise, anything Tradu Mines level and higher will be coming along, although we may have to make modifications depedning how things go (for example, if we totally change the look of how Musketeer weapons work, then we’ll do our best to make a transmog in the spirit of the original, but it may not be identical).

All capes, mounts, and pets will be coming along for sure.

And then of course the major note to all of this is, not all of that will be available the day Reborn launches. We are obviously prioritizing the new gear and weapons and making sure we have plenty of time to polish those and get them in. It’s not going to take us like a year or something to the get the old gear transmogs re-done to be compatible, but it’s just not going to be launch-day, so I want to be clear on that. Mounts, capes, and pets will be launch-day, though, since those don’t have to really be re-done for the new avatars as much.

How exactly with transmog transfer into reborn? Should we save our gear and deconstruct it after reborn hits, or will currently unlocked styles automatically be transferred to reborn?

Everything you have unlocked will be unlocked in Reborn (of the stuff that makes it into the new game). I’ll let you know as we get closer about whether you should purposefuly break stuff down ahead of that or not, but my guess is we will just go through your inventory and give you credit for everything you have or something like that as well.

Will current vendors survive the apocalypse (Trickster, normal/hard/expert raids, dye shop, etc?)

Some will, some won’t. It’s likely the Raid Token and Trickster vendors will not, but again if that’s the case I will give plenty of notice so you have time to use up those tokens.

• Current pots will still be fine and usable but there will be better versions for the new max level, some of the current mats will be used still, some new still will also be added

As with any MMO expansion, there will be newer more powerful recipes of things such as healing potions to support the higher health pools from advancing to a higher level. So a healing potion that’s great for level 20 today will still be great for level 20 in the expansion, but it won’t be relevant for max-level content. Some current ingredients will be used in the new recipes, some new ingredients will be introduced as well. All of that itemization is not finalized yet though.

• All dyes will still be available, new ones, some may be easier to get

All of the current dyes will be available in the new game as well as some new ones. I don’t think it would ever go to a once-unlocked system though. There will be some new ways to get those current hard to obtain ones though.

• Stalls are staying but more options for non-stall owners to sell

There are going to be changes to how the in-game trading works in general, yes. We will have more details on that in the future. Market Stalls will be sticking around in general but there will be an expanded set of options for those who don’t have a stall to sell their goods to other players as well.

We will archive them as-is but they will be changing for Reborn.

Will the world bosses currently in the game remain unchanged mechanics and loot wise? Or can we expect to have the capes that drop off of them become unobtainable in Reborn? Thanks so much for your work I’m so excited to try out the Shaman! We Zappy Bois Now!

There will be new World Bosses. Again, these might return at some point in the future as part of a retro event, but when the game launches right off the bat, you would not be able to get these capes if you didn’t already have them before.

Will we be able to customize/expand our player house?
6.1 Is the player house receiving any changes whatsoever?

Player house is being re-done into more of an “upgrade” type of situation (e.g. unlock additional rooms or bigger house). Long-term I still want to do decorating and custom furniture but I think that is still out of scope for the initial release of Reborn.

• Aiming towards 4 Dungeons and 5 Raid bosses at Level 30

I don’t have an exact number yet, but you can expect probably 4 dungeon wings and 5 Raid Bosses at the start. However, unlike with the last go-round since we won’t be working behind the scenes on totally re-doing the entire game (haha), we should be able to release new wings and raid bosses much more quickly.
