[Resolved] Steam Web API Down: Unable to Login on Steam

I have the issue too, and was wondering if there is a way to link steam purchase to Oculus store?

If anyone can fix it it’s Riley, just chill out for a while: grab a drink and some food. Software development is like trying to balance a pencil on its tip: any small problem/mistake can have far-reaching consequences. Most likely the problem is something small.

it keeps coming up with “We were unable to successfully authenticate your store account with our game servers. Please try closing and re-opening the program.”

Nah, that is not it at all. I am telling you it is the sun fish.

There seems to be some kind of an error being generated on Steam’s end with their authentication API (the part that identifies to us who you are when you login). I am trying to see if there’s a way we can work around it for now.

It seems that the Steam Web API is currently down, which is causing problems for many games.

I can confirm that steam is having server issues. It’s probably affects more than just OrbusVR. Ah you beat me to it. Thanks for the investigation, looks like we will just have to wait.

Now to play games to kill the time such as Overwatch. Ugh the struggle

how bout onward you get a vr fix and guns.

Somebody mind notifying me when said steam web API is back up?

I’m monitoring it…I did see a few requests go through successfully there for a bit but now it seems down again. I assume they are working on it. I will certainly update this thread when it is back up.

steam has an 503 error with its webstock api
https://steamstat.us/ thank daynab for the link

At least some requests are starting to succeed now.

It looks like, at least for now, it’s back up and running, so you should be able to login.

yep can login now…

Keywords, for now, but nontheless, yay!

It seems like ti might be having issues again, just FYI.

Basically if these websites show an issue with the “Steam Web API” then it’s likely it will be causing issues for us:

https://steamstat.us/
https://steamdown.net/

If they’re green and good to go it’s likely we are too.
