Server Side Patch 12/29- AFK Mechanic

Happy holidays everyone! We put out a small server side patch (No new download to worry about) today around 11 AM CST with a new AFK mechanic. We have been getting reports of players appearing with clones of themselves, and are investigating the issue currently, but have put this in place to help prevent those while we dig deeper into the actual issue and get it cleared up, along with helping keep the server cleaner with the increased community were seeing. Currently the AFK timer is set to 5 minutes, but will be extended to a longer time when we get the clone issues solved. You will get a server notification 30 seconds before being kicked to the login screen that informs you to move to avoid the kick. Thanks for all the help from the community so far on tracking this down, and welcome to all the new players that have joined us over the holidays!

Does that mean though when there is a clone around, you and your clone get both kicked, or neither get kicked?..

When you currently invite the main player the clone also gets green name for being in the party. Meaning it might be the exact same person?..

Without getting into too much of the technical detail, the clone will get kicked as long as the other player is still actively playing. So if you log on and have a clone of yourself, and you stay logged in longer then the 5 min AFK, then the clone will be kicked and you should be good to go without any issues.

And will Bards get removed if they are playing music, but not moving around? (Since the regeneration doesn’t seem to proc combat).

no, its hand or “foot” movement (teleportation or sliding locomotion). So as long as you are actually playing the instruments you will be fine.

Edit: We included the hand movement check to make sure players fighting but not moving, along with players just standing around talking inside of highsteppe wouldn’t be booted, as even if you are not moving but talking or playing instruments you will still have hand movements.
