Burn, I think that’s a bit much to expect from the majority of the playerbase. especially in the given situation. 1 quest, 2 or more players, at least 1 of which is not an adult. I’m not sure I’d trust a kid to safely do a factory reset on ANY device. Logging out and in is much simpler.
In regards to that, having the ability to log out of an Orbus account on a specific platform would be a very useful QOL update. I know that when I 1st started playing I was on a mixed reality headset which I had to use steam for. My Hub’s account was on his rift. The rift was a far better headset and so was preferred. It would have been very useful to be able to log into my account on his headset when he wasn’t playing, but that wasn’t possible. In that specific case I just launched steam on his machine and ran it through there, but on a quest that isn’t doable.
There are good examples of other platforms that allow you to not just switch between accounts, but to have them ALL maintain a logged in state. Example: Rec Room, which has the user pick the account to log into at the start or give the option to create a new account.
To the point that @neil_b made, if I want to demo the game to a friend and they have the ability to create their own account to save progress, they are much more likely to buy the game once they get their own headset.
To sum all that up, I feel the logout ability would provide not only QOL, but also has the chance to increase the sales and demo downloads (which in turn increase sales) of the game as well.
