Upgrade Crystals

Ok, what im thinking is it would be a great idea to be able to upgrade gear with crystals (different than what you use for dungeons). The way you get these crystals is by buying them (with Dram), dismantling gear (of the same tier of crystal you want), or killing mobs. There should be tiers (to make it a little harder). With these crystals (like i said before) will be used for upgrading gear. Swords will do more DMG, armor will have more defense, and so on.

Here are some of the tiers for the crystals:
Common Crystal for Common Gear
Uncommon Crystal for Uncommon Gear
Rare Crystal for Rare Gear
etc.

What’s your justification for needing more stats on gear? I feel the attack and other stats are pretty well balanced for the content available. Maybe something like using crystals to increase the buff provided by affixes would be more appropriate than scaling the entire weapon.
