Yah, they are part of the hitbox now.
Are you sure? I’m sure the paladin hammer has been blocking them completely, i.e poison from poison arrow doesn’t get applied if the paladin puts hammer in front of them as a shield, I can try and check that out again later though
Heals hitting the hammer gives me heals pve, and snaging afflictions in pvp kills me. Might be different with hammer toss, have not tested.
Would have made it a lot easier to rush 
I mostly just died. Really did try holding the hammer as a shield
