When you are viewing your equipment, nearby player’s warrior shields can be seen.
it does it with the majority of special effects, like magic and hammer lightning. alot of us view it as an ester egg. its a nice feature not a bug 
Most weapons can be seen. We sometimes use it to see what a shaman mask looks like on our own gear, rather than the transmog closet.
