Why is there a limit of two characters per account? I was rather disappointed when inviting a friend over to try out the game that I would have to delete one of my characters in order to let her play from the beginning, so I tried having her just log in as one of my own characters but she decided that she didn’t really want to start in the middle of the game. And this is someone who normally loves RPGs. I just think it is a shame is all.
I mean… you can still quest with them. Or let them play on their own for a bit. Or pick a character that hasn’t leveled a certain role too far, then play that role.
I think the main problem was that it let her get through the New Character process but then refused to save it, so playing one of my characters was a disappointment. She really wanted to look like ‘herself’.
I think that if it had been obvious that the character creation wasn’t going to be permitted it might have been a different conversation. But really I don’t get why the restriction is there in the first place, is it so expensive to store a couple of hundred kilobytes?
I don’t normally play MMOs, just RPGs so the limitation feels very artificial.
It probably is more along the lines of limiting people from sharing accounts than storage space.
It seems like the account sharing problem could more easily be solved by limiting simultaneous logins to one per account, like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and everyone else does.
