Dye Raid gear erases all detail

I hate posting things like this because the game is so great and I don’t want to take anything away from that. I feel like we are hard on the devs sometimes but on the other hand if we see things that could use tweaking and don’t bring it up …

I got a gear drop from the raid and dyed it. The dye erased all detail in the armor.
It’s a tiny thing but it’s such cool looking armor.

Which armor was it? It’s a possibility that the dye painted over some details by mistake so we could look into it and see if that’s the case.

(Also, did you dye it both with a main and accent? oftentimes the accent is the whole detail and the main will paint over more than normal until you have an accent.)

a bit off-topic but i wanted to ask: is there a reason why raids drop both Bee and Dandelion accent dyes which are pretty much the same or is it an oversight?

They are different shades of yellow I thought might make some pieces look cool with the same color but different tones so it was more of an experiment to see how the community liked it then anything else so we would know if the community as a whole wanted completely different colors or like to mix/match diff shades of same color to get kind of gradient effects, etc.

It was a mage chest piece.
I did not do an accent dye. I was a bit worried about using it because I’m broke lol. Jinx is playing echo arena on my Orbus headset. I’ll try it after he gets off.

Ah yeah the warrior desert gear is similar. Primary only will cover everything but add an accent and it fills in the accent parts

Edit: so add an accent and it’ll work

I would love to see dyes that pulsate/glow/change colors. Could bring a new level of badass to the game.

Ok tried it. I think It’s just the 2nd layer. It makes it look a bit flat. I just could not put my finger on what was changing lol.
I put an accent on it.
This is with dye

This is with only the accent.

The main colors will work for me I think. I’ll just put a cobalt blue accent on it.

and let us do normal colors in alchemy, kinda boring we all look the same until 20.

Unless we want to use the same taffey color that drops over and over and over and…

Apparently it was just because of the color I was using. It looks really good in Black! Sorry about that!

What I would like to see is dye match the gradient of the armor just in the color you dyed… just like irl if you dye a grey shirt and a white shirt with the same dye, the grey shirt would be darker. So if I dye the raid parka pink, it should be darker on the top half because the default color is darker, this would add a lot more dimension to the colors.

I still use taffey at end game. :stuck_out_tongue: looks good with saltwater taffey!

What i would like to see to be quite honest, is more actual textures so that the world in general isn’t just albedo colored. But that may just be me
