Epic gear affix

hey,

i just got an epic gun for my musketeer, with the affix giantkiller… i heard of another musketeer who got lifesteal…

Seems kind of pointless, for a support class. if it was some blue stuff, why not, but on epic gears, that are already pretty rare… it’s a big letdown to have this kind of useless affix…

So since this post is categorized as a suggestion, i would suggest removing affix for certain class

for example like that:

Indestructible ok for every class

Lifesteal doesn’t make much sense musketeer, could be only for rangers and warriors

Lifepull makes a lot of sense for musketeer, not for other classes

Charged Strikes doesn’t make any sens for musketeer (except if there are critcals for healing),why not for the others, maybe have a smaller N for runemages, since they don’t attack as many times as rangers and warriors.

Unbending, ok for every class

Treasure Master, ok for every class

Giantkiller doesn’t make sense for musketeer, ok for the others

Iceheart: makes a lot of sens for mages, barely makes any sense for musketeer (not many are brave enough to dps with a musketeer at high level)

Bleed: warrior and ranger

Lightning Forged: all except musketeer

First Strike: all but musketeer

I get what you are going for, but it’s going to be really really difficult to gen consensus on this.

For example, many people think Indestructible and Treasure Master aren’t worth it for any class, and things like Bleed are favored by some mages. It almost sound like you want to break them up by DPS/Warrior/Healer, but then you’d end up with only a few affixes for some of the classes.

I agree that many of them are problematic for different classes, but I also think that is sorta what the devs are going for… they expected you to have to get a few and then figure out how to make them work for you.

Maybe we add a gold sink that’s an affix-mixer, lets you dump some amount of dram and maybe some rare mats to an npc which RNG’s a new (or possibly the same muahahaha) affix.

This would be pretty amazing. I think Colonel was suggesting that it could cost Glimmering Shards, so you would at least have to get and deconstruct extra epic drops to re-roll epic drops.

i have nothing against “weaker” affix, the problem is with completely useless one.

I agree not averyone is gonna be on the same page, but in my example, you have 9 affixes for warriors and rangers, 8 for mages and 4 for musketeer

Excepts musketeer, it’s pretty even.

You could always slightly change what affixes do depending on the class you are playing: for example for giant killer you could have it the way it is for ranger warrior and mage, and have it add a healing bonus when fighting boss level monsters for musketeers.

Bleed could give the big heal of a musketeer a 50% chance of triggering a Heal over time effect

and so on, there are a lot possible things, but it’s too disappointing when you finally get an epic, to have a useless affix… the idea of possibly rerolling for a price, would be nice too ^^

I mean you’re assuming all Musketeers are healers which is not the case.

The rerolling affix idea using shards is definitely an interesting idea.

Let’s be real though, you don’t choose Musketeer for damage, great for solo play awful for group play if you want to be a dps.

Yep, in my opinion i don t think musketeer as dps is viable in a group of 5, maybe for raid it will be…

When the talent trees are released I’m hoping they will be extensive enough to allow for some unique builds. Wouldn’t mind having a dps based off-tank for the raid

kinda felt like spoilers listing all the affixes XD

They’re all listed on the wiki as public knowledge, but I can see how it could take away some shock value. Rings have unique affixes too

I suggested increasing loot drops to resolve this but everyone got all up in arms about, however i like your suggestion as well. Might increase the reward for all the work put in.
