After joinig a fellowship recently i realize how much i actually don’t like having people talking randomly. It’s already hard to discern whos talking when your around people (unless you know every player and their voice) and having other voices mixed in makes things worse for me. Its also weird when your going about by yourself and you hear chatter, look around only to realize its FC. The mixing of voices when your chatting with people out it the world is just messy to me.
I know it’s probably more of a personal issue and i should get used to whos in my fellowship (how people deal with the larger ones is beyond me) but i’d honestly rather not deal with it. Party’s on the other hand are fine since you know the only people talking are a small other group your currently doing something with, but thats it for me.
I can’t really think of a good way to solve this and there probably isnt one in game at least. I guess thats the one upside to chat logs, they are easy to see who is talking and from where.
There is a slider in the audio tab of the options menu that lets you adjust fellowship chat volume. I agree however that it’s disorienting to hear everyone in the fellowship talking.
I wish there was a good way to fix it, but its hard to do with pure voice chat and the limited buttons to map things to since the Vive buttons became the standard.
I have not checked the buttons but why couldn’t they just add a box to check for various chat and you could check / uncheck what you want coming in? A box for normal world chat, one for group, one for fellowship?
I would just use discord for fellowship chat. The fellowship chat in game definitely needs some work, but I’d rather the devs keep working on the game itself like new areas, new classes etc etc. This is an issue we can fix ourselves pretty effortlessly for now.
