I’ve noticed that the first cast after I catch a fish, I have trouble with the cast. It really doesn’t want to cast. It’s just finicky and troublesome.
Unfortunately, that’s a bit hard to track. But during a fishing session today, I also noticed that I missed catching a fish on that first cast after catching one. I could feel the line vibrate, but when I hooked it and reeled it in, there was nothing on the line.
It’s a hard thing to describe, but it happens every time for me.
Well, I can still cast it, but it’s much harder. The lure just doesn’t fly off the rod like it normally does. Sometimes I just let it drop off the rod to get that bad cast out of the way.
Did you try relogging. I think I now know what your problem is because I do it occasionally — your casting into your back. Move the rod out from behind you to your side and fling it like that so your not hooking yourself in the back. Try that
The problem only occurs on the first cast after catching a fish, though. I can cast just fine every other time. But that first time after catching a fish is…sticky. I’ll see if I can make a video of it (it’ll be a new trick for me!)
A video would be very helpful, thanks! I have never experienced this issue, but I’m also on the Vive. I’ll boot up the Rift when I get a chance and take a look at this. Thanks for reporting!
Aah, it has something to do with the fish being on the line.
What I do is put my pole away and take it back out to clear the fish. Then I try to cast. If I try to cast with the fish still on the line, it behaves the same way.
If I wait for the fish to clear off the line itself, then it will cast normally. So, apparently, the bug is that putting away your pole and pulling it back out does not reset the fish timer, which causes the cast to act strange.
