I’ve been catching sunfish to make healing potions for the last 2 hours. I’ve caught a lot of 1~ pounders and a lot of 3+ pounders. I haven’t really cared though because unless it’s record breaking there’s no difference.
I suggest you make potions need a certain weight of fish rather than just “One sunfish”. Find the average weight of a sunfish and have that be the equivalent of one fish, the potion would then require that amount. For now let’s say that’s two pounds. So if I catch a 3 pound fish I get a little excited because that’s one and a half potions worth.
Just something small to make fishing a bit more interesting.
I like the idea of making the fish weight impact the potions. Perhaps having heavier fish make stronger potions?
That would also make the fish attractor potion more valuable…
I personally would like fish not to be in the potions at all. Unlikely to happen, but still.
Maybe make bigger fish at least be worth more exp (compared to their species)? Might make fishing a little more exciting that way.
I would also add that I think you should get more experience or something additional whenever you break your own record / get a personal best on a catch.
Could work but would sure suck if one of the first fish you ever caught was also your biggest.
Very true but it would add a sense of excitement to keep chasing your personal best, especially if the rewards scaled.
So you wanna change the count systeem into a pound system? Like changing 10 sunfish onto 20 pounds bc the current fish have to be converted too. This would also make the stack splitting of fish different than other items.
I also would really like the weight of a fish to matter in some way. Otherwise it feels pointless, doesn’t the weight increase the difficulty of catching it, but it provides no benefits?
I considered that but if you just convert each one fish into the average weight used to make a potion there would be no change. If we’re still going with 2 pounds then converting all held fish into 2 pounds per single fish wouldn’t be a loss for anyone. A stack of fish could be converted to a container where selecting it opens a sub-inventory of single fish. That or just have the numbers held be internal but that would cause problems if you were trying to trade fish.
