Flying snakes in the desert

This wasn’t annoying. In fact, we found it quite hilarious, but I’m betting it’s not working as intended.

I pulled a snake with Frostbolt 2. I typically will back up while it travels to the mob, so I can potentially get a couple more spells off before it reaches me. In this case, I backed up the side of a hill (south desert, just outside graveyard side of town, near the arched rocks). As the snake moved toward me, my friend says, “It’s flying!” Apparently the mob chose a “straight” path to reach me, and since I was 20 feet or so up the side of the hill, the mob left the ground and headed straight for me in flight.

I’ve been experiencing this phenomenon a lot in the Cthonic Ruins with Cactaur. Except I’m usually level and they will occasionally climb invisible stairs to heaven. Once they are directly over me they reset. It’s quite amusing.
