Help with fishing

So in the old game I got pretty high in fishing, maybe level 13 if my memory is correct. But with this new fishing I’m kinda clueless on what’s going on, if someone could give me a swift run down that would be great. Also have a few bugs to report.

  • When the fishing pole is on the hip am I only supposed to see the handle or is this a bug? (Either way it looks kinda strange and out of place)
  • When holding the rod now do you have to hold the grab button the whole time? Sometimes I’ll let it go and it stays, other times it falls into oblivion and then I have to re-log because the line is messed up.
  • Most of the time the line doesn’t turn red at all and my line breaks. (Or turns very very light pink)
  • The messages for the rod are backwards.
  • Often I will be reeling in and I get the fish when the line is still in the middle of the lake.
  • I still have my old fishing gear with the perks on them is there anyway I can equip them and see them? As it is now I can’t get them to show up. (If I can’t use them that’s kinda a bummer :sweat_smile:)

I used to be able to catch fish non stop, but for some reason in reborn I can’t seem to catch maybe one every lure, either from my line snapping or I can’t catch the fish and I’m just reeling for 5 minutes before I give up and have to re-log. Any help would be appreciated

Supposedly, if you hold the rod for a bit it should stay. Not sure on specific time that is needed.

This was an issue in the beta, too. Try to hold it so you have a dark surface behind and it should be easier to see.

Someone’s a leftie! This was reported in beta and I think the devs are working on a fix (last I heard)

Not sure if they plan to make these transmogs available again. The gear should still work (I think) but won’t show up since it’s not been made to the new avatars

I noticed that if you grab your fishing pole and just hold it in its spot for a second youll feel a single vibrate from your controller indicating that your holding it now, and then you can let go of your grip button.

I also have had lines break when the line was a very light and not the usual deep red.

I dont know about the old gear but there is new fishing gear you can buy when you raise your reputation.

If you aren’t already, watch the line on the rod itself. It changes colour much more accurately then the rest which seems to take time to catch up.
