It’s minor, But it would be nice to add a watch to show your current time. Maybe even add it on our compass.
not the first time it’s been requested and i’ll offer the same response
our vr platforms have clocks built into them. pressing the right menu button on rift gives you the system time. no idea where steamvr’s time is but i know it has one.
sure they could add it. but is it going to save that much effort? compared to how much it would cost to implement?
I’m not aware of what it would cost to implement it. So I can’t really answer it. Sure I could use the home button to check. But if I’m mid combat. It’s not ideal. It’s a QoL suggestion. That’s all lol
but to plays devils advocate, do you need to know what the time is during combat? sure it’s QoL but there are quick alternatives available now. to me this is a really low priority compared to more content/progression etc.
It never hurts to make a suggestion if that’s what the OP wants to see in the game. It’s fine to comment about the original idea, but comments that basically just say “in my opinion this should take a back seat to what I think is important” don’t really add anything to the discussion.
Are we talking real time, or in game time?
Real time would be a little helpful, since we wouldn’t have to go to the steam menu to see the time, but it would be pretty immersion breaking in my opinion. I would enjoy seeing the in game time though.
If real time were added, I would prefer it in the menu over inventory. I don’t want it where I’m seeing it all the time as it’ll seem like a deadline of how much time I’ve left to play
An ingame timepiece would be nice though, or a moon at night, so I can look up and see how far along the night is, and guesstimate when morning will arrive.
Love the dawn/dusk transition by the way
I think game time would be really usefull. This because alot of us live in different time zones. If game time would be a thing you can just say let’s meet at 5pm. that 5pm will be at the exact same time for everyone playing the game.
Yes. I would agree. A universal server time would be great.
My tip for all VR users:
I use VoiceAttack, and have a custom command where I can say “Time check”*** and it’ll reply with my current local system time.
VoiceAttack’s free version let’s you add up to 20 commands and I think there’s no “trial time” limit.
(I bought it over a year ago, and I later started using it for Elite Dangerous with an HCS voice pack, that’s awesome. But even before that, adding in my own voice commands like “Next Track” and “Music Volume Down” to control my Winamp music playlist has been great.)
You do need to do a round or 2 of Window’s voice recognition training reading what’s on-screen via the mic you intend to use.
*** You could make the command whatever you want to have to say to trigger it: “Jarvis what time is it?” “Computer, time.” “Gimme the o’clock clocker’s clock.” Whatever… you… want… >.>
