The use of layered tabs to the journal, I feel would expedite the process of flipping through each individual page. The order of the pages in the journal can be awkward at times and having to flip past the spells to get to information behind them makes me feel like I would’ve rather not have put my journal up to the pillars in the first place.
I know this topic has come up a ton of times, but I’ve never seen a conclusive response. I think I’ve seen Riley respond that he will consider it, but I think this is more of a problem than it seems to be.
I barely ever use the journal because it is so annoying to flip pages. I literally have a pdf of the map open on my computer that I can access via oculus home beta 2.0, so that I can get to it much easier.
This is my biggest problem with the game so far honestly. I hate how you have to flip sequentially through everything just to get between the map, quests, appendix for some quests, etc.
I suggested this earlier in the week, only reason I mentioned it in my post is because I had mainly been requesting stats in my post. The search function is pretty easy on these forums I think but I understand if you get excited about a suggestion it’s easier to post.
I love flipping through the journal. Gives me something to do as I walk back and forth from Guild City to Wenderwood again. That being said, I am all about some organization. I had thought about an index in the front you could click to go to a certain section - the journal would always open to the index. I would also like a way to pin it to my space so it would follow me.
adding bookmarks tabs would be super nice UX addition, and allow for more content in book without driving me crazy
I like flipping through the pages too. It is well done but once you have a dozen pages for spells, dozens for potions and fish, it’s a bit of a downer when you get a new quest asking you to go somewhere specific and you have to flip through 30+ pages to get to your map. Either an index or putting the maps near the quests would be nice. Thing like spells don’t need to be referenced once they’ve been memorized just like warrior combos so they’d likely be better suited at the back of the book. Meanwhile quests, and maps are looked up regularly.
