I recently ported home form the wilds, 24Feb18, but in doing so ported into oblivion. I tried logging out but this did not clear the issue. I ended up having to select return to grave and in doing so lost my trade items. I lost 74 clown fish and one bloody flesh. Normally I would not bother, however, these items are so time consuming to obtain. Is there any way to get these back seeing as it was a glitched rather than being careless in the wilds?
Hi, this happened to me yesterday as well. I was in the wilds and teleported home. I got stuck in a transition screen and had to go to grave. I could not retrieve my stuff since it was lost in oblivion or transition screen to pick up my fish. I lost 12 snail looking fish, 5 axetol, some other blue fish i forget the name, some syz—flowers and wheeping krodo. Any way I can get this back?
Just want to bump this and verify that it’s an known bug by the community if the devs don’t know about it. The generally accepted solution is to unequip your gear and graveyard but if you’re a bandit and don’t realize it you lose all your stuff.
I think you can get around it by waiting for your cookie to come off cooldown and trying again… Maybe, but again, that’s kind of insane and it’s easy to just forget that you’re a bandit too.
I accept the risks of going to the wilds. In fact the thrill of the hunt or fear of being caught is appealing to me. If I was being reckless and died from players or mobs with my bags full and could not retrieve my belongings I would happily accept the loss. However, I did not die to a player. I did not die to mobs. I had to die because I teleport into nothingness. I was in the wilds for a specific resource and so yes I had the items I described in my bags…and nothing else.
Again, I only bring this post up because these particular resources are very time consuming to come by and I feel I did not do anything wrong except to glitch within the wrong location.
I wasn’t a bandit. I was just teleporting home from the wilds. I got stuck in the oblivion and had no other option but go to graveyard. I lost my stuff and its not like I can go to my tombstone to pick it up…because it was in space somewhere. So, I just lost it.
So I am looking into fixing this bug for sure, sorry about that.
At the same time I’m honestly wondering if we should just make it so that you can’t use your Teleportation Device in the Wilds at all. It kind of defeats the whole purpose, which is supposed to be you venture into the Wilds, then have to make it back out with the loot before you are “safe.”
Also do you (Justin and Crazie) know approximately when you lost it? It used to be fairly easy to track this down but there are like 100’s of instances of tradable loot dropping per day now, so if you know approximately when it was that would help. I will attempt to track it down so I can restore it for you.
I agree. My only concern though is that entrances/exits could be camped. I’m no wilds expert though. I have no idea whether or not this would actually be a problem.
Please make it so you can’t use your teleport device. I’m not sure either why it is allowed in the first place.
Also, I think you should also make it so if you log out in the wilds, it should take you 10 seconds to logout and any action will cancel the logout. If you login and you are in the wilds, you should be invulnerable for a few seconds or until your character moves. Right now anybody logging in is a free kill as they can’t fight back due to them loading in.
Because the guards insta-kill bandits and can’t be kited, camping the exits isn’t generally an issue. If you’re not a bandit, you’re probably safe because who’s going to attack someone who has insta-kill backup?
That said, the Lamavora wilds could be more strongly affected by this, because they have a huge chunk that’s accessible only through a small bottleneck far from guards, perfect for camping.
That also said, slightly campable wilds aren’t the worst thing.
All that said, please make guards kiteable and slightly tankable. If they’re willing to run after a bandit for a full minute without breaking off, and can insta-kill you, why are the wilds so dangerous in the first place?
Basically, I’m on board with non-home teleport Wilds in theory, but, as a bandit, I’d love to see things slightly more amenable before that.
The guards radius is too large. It would make sense to lower their aggro radius but when you get near the exit, they should throw a net on you that slows you down tremendously and kill you.
I’m referring to the higher section, which makes up a good chunk of the farmable area in Lamavora. The ramp up on the shore-side is the only way in, which makes it a bottleneck people could use for camping, if they were aware of a target in the higher section or a target trying to get to the higher section.
Teleporting from the wilds will put you in the wilds void sometimes. Can also first seem safe back at home, but after leaving house you appear in the wilds void anyway. Only solution so far seems to be wait 25min, and port out.
You get the “You are now entering the wilds” message and everything
Hello. This same problem happened to me today 2/27 around 7pm. I cookied home then put headset down, few mins later had to relog and was in oblivion. After hitting to graveyard I was back in the desert wilds, and all my harvestable drops was gone but not the gear drops. Please look into this as I spent about 3 hours in the wilds harvesting sourbells and killing mobs for eye worms.
Sort of a blur to be honest. I am going through some logs and there is a error entry on 24Feb18 1829 GMT. I apologise I cannot provide a more confident answer. I will pay attention should it happen in the future.
