So I’m not the best mage there is, but after playing some PVP, it seems like a rather weak class for that purpose. I’m blasted to death by scoundrels before I can even manage to get a few spells off. It also seems that polymorph doesn’t work in PVP. That could be handy.
I might suggest adding a spell for mages that allows them to teleport a much further distance, just out of damage range, randomly. In the old days of Everquest, wizards and necros had this ability, known as “shadow step”. It leveled the field for soft squishy caster types.
Mage is actually really good in pvp if I remember correctly. They can kill with just a few dots and fireballs. They apply affliction 2 and then cast fire 2 for damage, perhaps a frost 2 for slow but they die so quick.
This sounds like it would be a fun new spell!
Mages in pvp are pretty strong once you get the hang of it. Everything as a new mages will make you feel underpowered. Doubly so for pvp because having to move to dodge actual people kills as a mage. It’s hard at first. You are so squishy and it’s such a skill based class. Stick with it though once you get it it’s a strong class.
I get crushed in pvp by mages as a scoundrel might just need to practice a bit more. Movement is a huge thing in pvp you can’t stay still too long in one place or you die.
