Anything I will suggest next is related / paralel with common MMOs exploring system.
In those games, when you are entering a new zone, a new map with fog of war will appear and you can explore it by foot and so the map will reveal.
Also, the devs will have to take into consideration that time in VR is a little bit limited. (it doesn’t compare with the time you can spend on a pc …motion sickness, your feet will get tired, palm will get sweaty, etc, etc)
I explored many zones in Orbus and got a little lost. Lost is fine, it makes you discover new places and gives you that real adventure feeling.
But the problem is that I remain with no map after my adventure.
Any explorer will draw a map after they will discover a new land, right?
I think a map system will be a huge improvement related to the places you are exploring.
It took me an hour to get to know the surroundings near Guild City, and I still have only one map. The main one, on the starting zone.
It’s a little bit frustrating
I wouldn’t have a problem with the current system if it was the first couple of quests in a new zone, however it is not the case with when you are doing the beginning questline near guild city. I just assumed after over 10 hours of gameplay that there was only 1 map implemented, until I saw ppl posting that you get them in main quests. I got my map at the end of the questline; This should in my opinion NOT be the method we get the maps… It was misleading for me initially.
Please consider providing a map when you travel to the new area and meet up with the main quest giver, or something similar. I believe it would be a nice and easier QoL improvement for everyone.
Michael, what exactly are you talking about, mate???
It was fun to drow maps on pc games like text adventures, or any kind of games after that, but we are playing this games with some headset …on our head. and also holding two controllers.
Yes, I agree, drawing our own map on the jurnal, that would be a great feature of the game…
The maps that are in the game atm that you can unlock through the main story were drawn by a Comuunity member and the devs implemted them into the game.
So someone did what Michael suggested and send them to the devs.
