Hi Riley,
Love this game as is and would buy 100x over, however, are you guys going to add a more advanced navigation system? Even if the map just showed a red arrow indicator where your player currently was and facing it would be immensely helpful and would probably retain more players. Eventually it would be nice to open it either as an inventory item like the journal, could be a rolled up scroll that would uncover areas after you travel to them. If there was a reason not to include this feature for a more realistic game play I do understand, but it would be nice to see a full map including guild city and the desert and other locations not included in journal. Either way thank you writing amazing code for this great game!
Best,
Jack

Is there another Jinx? O_O
I’m just a player.
You do get maps for guild city and the desert, later in the main story line. Not for the rest of the zones though, hopefully there will be patches for them later on.
As to the rest, I doubt it will happen. This game is designed along the lines that it does not hold your hand. They give you just enough info to figure out what you have to do, and its up to you/asking fellow players from there.
I currently have 4 maps, I think.
But I have to say that I currently find the maps really annoying. I can not handle that at all. I’ve explored and memorized most of it myself, but sometimes you’re really looking for something. For me it would be enough if my current location could be indicated by a simple dot on the map …
Agreed, i don’t mind not having the overly detailed map systems we have in modern MMOs, but the player and party dots on the map would be great.
Riley has stated many times that they will not be adding Map Markers(Quest objectives, player/party location) on the Map.
I’m okay with the current map system and the lack of handholding, but what I would like to see is the ability to “fold out” the maps so you can look at how they are all linked to each other a bit more clearly. Or, add a map that you can put on your belt and open up that way (still only showing the maps you have discovered, I like that). I can figure out where I am with the current map system, it would just be nice to see the whole map you have unlocked on one “page”.
