No BGM in raids and frame rate issues

I’m not really sure what was causing it and if it’s related or not but while raiding tonight someone mentioned how good the background music in the raids was so I turned it on as I normally play with the BGM off but couldn’t hear it at all, once I left the portal the sound suddenly started working, I had it on max so it was slightly shocking when I zoned out :joy:

I was also having a lot of frame rate issues which I didn’t have Friday and I don’t think I had on Saturday. It was certainly an issue tonight though and I don’t think I have changed anything on my end

I don’t hear the background music too in raids. I boosted it up in the raid dungeon, then when I get out, the BGM is blasting.

I am also getting slow frame rates and a lot of desyncs.

Hmm, i wonder if in-game audio in general is related to all the stutterings/freezes then. Come to think of it, i’ve have had much less problems than the large slew of issues i posted about in the “lag, freezes and crashes” thread, since i attended Alphabet’s world boss raid.

That same day i believe was the day i turned BGM all the way down as well as (during the raid) turning off voice chat. That day i also had my longest continuous game session without problems (10+ hours of the game running).

In addition to this, I have now gone to frosted spit to fish and I can hear the ambient sound from the fire with all the in-game sound settings turned off. I can’t record right now to show the sound is playing but I can send this quick screenshot to show that the settings are all the way down so I shouldn’t be able to hear it

^ Reminds me that sliders in vr generally needs a +/- button, or in the case of the above an “Off” checkbox. Two reasons for this:

  • fat VR fingers can have a hard time to “hit” 0%
  • an [off] checkbox would allow to quickly turn off audio (or other settings) while retaining the original setting

BGM not playing sometimes: we’re tracking the issue.

Fires still making a sound through volume control: also tracking.

Thank you for reporting!

If you notice anything specific about the framerate changing, let us know.

Will do! Wasn’t anything I could put my finger on but will try next time it happens

A few of us have noticed this happening on boss 4 in raids as the fight gets further and further on the frame rate drops more. A simple Relog fixes it but it can be a painful mid fight.

A couple of us have been seeing it during boss 2 as well (the boss with all the ghosts).

Also, I have been desync-ing a lot more during raids fights than dungeons. I use the default connection because I cast better as a mage.

The sound seemed to be working again in the raid last night, however a few of us were all getting horrible frame rate on certain parts in the second and forth boss encounters, nothing seems to be standing out as to what is causing it

Yea, it seems like this keeps happening with boss 5 and the other fights. As the battle progresses, the framerates drops.
