No voice audio on link pc vr steam or oculus client

No voice audio all other audio works fine in game but I cannot hear other players have run all recommendations I could find plus personal troubleshooting and it still is the same.

I’m out of ideas bought the game twice and cant play it suggestions are welcome.

I’m not new to troubleshooting and have tried all of the basic steps and some advanced to no avail.

It used to work fine with no issues and just stopped out of nowhere.

I’m not sure what you have tried, but three things I think of:

  • Make sure your in-game voice volume slider is turned up
  • Make sure you haven’t turned on global mute (hold both menu buttons for a couple seconds)
  • Make sure Orbus has microphone permissions. This actually affects your ability to hear other people too.

Also, did this just start today, or how long has it been going on? I ask because they just came out with a global mute/Do Not Disturb mode yesterday.

No its been a month and ive done all that and more

ive got a lot of game time as well so im positive it is not an ingame feature causing the issue

I’m not sure if this caused it, but make sure you’re signed in/online for steam chat.

I used to have the same issue and the way I fixed it is you go on the game with it plugged in, you pull up your voice recorder (it’s built into windows 10) start the voice record unplug the headset then Re-plug it in and you should be able to talk you can then stop the voice recording

Other people can hear me i just cant hear anyone else, will the same thing fix that I wonder?

how do you access permissions in pcvr?

I’m always signed out of steam friends/chat and i generally have no audio issues (unless everyone hears stuttering because the server is having issues).

That said, i play through oculus, not steam.

The steam thing doesn’t have anything to do with audio in-game.
However if you play on steam you have to be be connected to the steam chat/steam in general in order to log into the game. As orbus used it for authentication.
