Not for casuals or peeps with a life

Totally! I wish I could heart this post like 50 times. That would be an awesome addition. Plus think if it was a ‘gauntlet’ you could run more than once. Suddenly you have time trials/scores and battles for 1st place like with the dragon races, but based on your player class skill level.

Then you’d develop a common language with new players. Ok this boss… it’s just like the womp rats in beggar’s canyon back home. :stuck_out_tongue:

I personally find this game too kind for casuals!
all the difficult stuff you had to do in the wilds made the game harder, leveling was harder.
but I guess if you really do have and incredibly strict amount of time to play then I guess it could be difficult.
but in comparison to old orbus its not harder

See this we can work with!!
ITA that guilds can seem very intimidating. A big part of this is we tend to hang out in discord more then ingame voice. Its not that we dont want to chat with others. Its just that we really want to be able to chat with each other and thats harder to do ingame with everyone running in different directions and leaving and joining different groups. If you see us you can still say hi or ask a question but you may have to give us a sec to mute our discord so dont think that we are ignoring you. We do serious end game things. We (Nova) like working for the hard stuff but you may be surprised how fricken silly we are while doing it. We have a couple of people who stream including myself. Watch us sometime if you are still nervous about talking to us. We are the opposite of scary once you see us trying to ten tank a raid boss or critter cap Treesus. I dont want to crazy spam the page but pm me if you want some twitch feeds. Most of the guilds that ive encountered are the same way. Most of us are happy to chat with other people. You dont have to be afraid of us. We are pretty nice and we dont bite… well maybe @Infraggable_Krunk may but hes also one of the best healers in the game so youd be ok.

Did… Did you just solve one of the reasons a higher player leaves a dungeon?!! A higher level player typically does not want to play with fresh installs when it comes to dungeon content as it takes longer than 2 seconds to learn. I personally will give low levels a shot but leave if they don’t even know their class. This check would at least ensure the players you are playing with at least know the basics. I wan’t to run dungeons with low levels but is frustrating when they don’t know how to play.

Same thing happened for a runemage competition in old orbus. It died out because their was no incentive to be #1 until the community said whoever could beat Alu would get like 50000-500000 dram or something like that. And people fought for number 1 and it was fun!

I honestly do think some sort of in-game trainer quest to just orient people enough to work as a team in the dungeon would be helpful. Even if just to get some terminology down or have some common reference points.

Just running it a few times and failing also works… but there is that notion of the sour taste when people give up early that I think could be helped along a bit.

Yes, and that also encourages folks to get more skilled with their class which will in turn, make the game more enjoyable for them.

This game is casual AF!
You get daily rolls, Insane exp per hour and chests that hand you free gear and mats just for levelling…
Hush up.

I’ve been reading these threads, and here is my unsolicited 2 cents on what I believe the core issue is. Steve_M1 can correct me if I’m wrong.

The game is full of high level players. This is for two reasons.

  1. Lots of players brought over their Orbus chars and only had to go from level 20-30.
  2. Leveling in orbus is very fast compared to traditional MMO standards.

This results in the impression to some people that everyone else is running max level content seemingly overnight that they don’t get to participate in because they’re not leveling as quickly, which would then be translated as the game having no support for casuals because these people must be playing 24/7 to achieve this…

Steve, if this is the case; it’s important to remember that a lot of these characters you see did come from Orbus so they had a huge leg up on leveling. In addition to this, you’re not actually missing out because you will get there along with all the other casuals that are playing.

I’m a casual player (only level 7 on a single class), and from what I’ve read so far; the raids and high level dungeons in Orbus are still designed to be run in under an hour. Which is a very casual pace by MMO standards. (I remember many an evening prior to life being more demanding where spending 4 or 5 hours on a raid in WoW was not uncommon)

long story short, lots of high levels in the game because they’re ported characters, but you’re really not missing out on anything because there are plenty of casuals like myself around too who are leveling at a snails pace right along with you who will get there eventually.

Sorry but I gotta disagree big time on this one. The mission system they added in Reborn allows you to get huge amounts of xp in a quite short amount of time. You could do a bunch of easy low-mid level missions and easily net 50,000 xp or more in a couple hours if not less. And a bunch of reward caches as well.

Even so, I prefer that it isn’t easy to level up. This is an MMO, reaching max level is supposed to be something to aspire to, something that should take time and effort and social connections to accomplish.
