Oculus Touch controller point gesture

The Touch controllers support a natural pointing gesture by lifting your finger off of the trigger. Is it possible to use this gesture for pointing rather than the grip buttons? If so, how? If not, I would like support for it to be implemented please.

It works just like you said. You just point.

Also, could we get Thumbs up? Oh and why does pressing the trigger currently make the finger point? Shouldn’t it be a fist?

I found that the lift finger gesture ONLY works if you have the grip button pressed on that hand, so you can’t initiate it while your hand is inside an item, but it is supported as long as you remember to use the grip button first.

Pressing the trigger points because the vive does not support the gesture and uses the trigger for this function but I agree it’s redundant on rift. You can make the fist if you just touch the trigger but don’t depress it, due to the proximity sensor activating.

+1 for giving us the thumbs up gesture if only cosmetically for more nonverbal communication.
I’m now thinking you could add an “okay” gesture with thumbrest and trigger proximity with grip up but I don’t want the vivers to get too jealous
