Oculus Users Who have the game on Steam should Know (FPS improvement trick)

Before you boot up the game!!!
If you run on Oculus rift through steam vr it will lag far more than it should but you can improve fps (may or may not work depending on your setup but massively helped mine)

  1. go to where oculus is installed (default C:\Program Files\Oculus)

  2. then go to the Support folder then enter Oculus-client

  3. scroll down and right click oculusClient.exe and hit properties

  4. go to compatability

  5. check the box that says run as administrator

Close oculus home if it is open then run the game :slight_smile:

To the people (including myself) that have fps issues on Oculus I hope this helps!

The reason this helps is that when steam Vr tries to open oculus home it cannot and boots only off of Steam Vr making it so you don’t have to run both systems at once but the oculus button does not work

good job it does seems to run a little bit smoother for me.

maybe as a little help for others the client is there in your folder it just is near invisible thanks to the white background I had to check 3 times to see or the icon was really there… who thinks of that anyways to make an icon white background white and just have a tiny black around it.

this is a neat trick and can work for all vr headsets not just oculus, certainly improved a lot of the loads time problems i was having

It only works for oculus or other headsets that use third party software because what its doing is preventing that third party software that is unneccecary from opening
