Orbus VR not working on Oculus Home

A few hours ago I tried to run Orbus on my oculus rift headset, and it brought up on my pc, and showed part of the character selection screen, however, on the headset it only said “OrbusVR Loading…” for a long time. so after restarting a few times and trying to figure it out that way, i opted to uninstall the game for hopes of reinstalling would fix the issue. Now, however, when i click install in the Oculus home app on my pc as well as on my headset, it just doesnt do anything at all. no response, or message, or anything. other games work, as i have uninstalled and reinstalled other games to test.

It’s probably related to this:

I managed to change the date, update Oculus, now I have Oculus updated and running, but what can I do about installing Orbus, like I said its the only app that isn’t working when i click install. Any idea?

Yea I did a full repair but issue is on their side. Hope it doesn’t affect Orbus that I’m now few days back in time …

Yeah I honestly don’t know, changing the date/time like that might affect something, who knows…my advice is just to hang tight, they are working on a fix right now:

Hmm well I closed Oculus again, reset the time back and forth to actual time again, brought up the app now its letting me install orbus. says 1.67 GB installing.
Guess I will see if its going to actually run properly or not once its installed.

It should least does it for me… first time I only saw 5 players on at a time (this been couple h ago when the issue started) lol.

This is all I see on my desktop, in the headset, it is still saying “Loading OrbusVR…”

Yes that is exactly what is happening to me, it is the issue described above. There are several DLL files that are basically broken right now.

So you tried playing on the rift and its having the exact same issue as me?

So on mine when I try to launch it, I get a Unity splash screen instead of the usual OrbusVR splash screen, then that happens, yeah.

If you look in your output_log, you’ll see this:

Unity v5.6.5f1, Oculus Utilities v1.16.0, OVRPlugin v1.16.0, SDK v0.0.0.

The SDK 0.0.0 is obviously a problem.

how do i check the output_log i am not that tech savy as far as logs go, if you can describe the process though i can figure it out

As far as i understand whats happening by reading reddit and official oculus forum: Even if you change the date of your PC(which you shouldn’t)) you will most likely not be able to start any Oculus games even if you get the software starting again with that. So we just have to wait until they(Oculus) fixed it.

It is probably here:

C:\Program Files\Oculus\Software\Software\orbus-online-llc-orbusvr\vrclient_Data

But my guess is that once Oculus resolves it it will fix the game. There’s nothing I can do on our end right now, it’s an Oculus issue.

As said I had that issue and playing right now… I did do a full repair, then reset my date (make sure its not auto-reset back), Orbus is working fine.

Okay. glad it works for you. Still I read a lot that you shouldnt play with time/date at windows because it can lead to licence-problems with other software so I gonna be just waiting.
But use your time, the servers should be pretty empty so no one will take those shiny materials away from you! Go get them all!

yea lets say I think I also know what I’m doing… I would not recommend it if you’re not and also do not open any other programs (sadly, with date set like this I can do nothing but play since the software I’d otherwise be working on is sensitive to this… :D)

Damn it :-/
I was so curious to try the new hit detection…but as already good players report that their swings are not registered I guess I will still struggle

Oculus Home Patch for this is out, yey the Rift is back  https://www.oculus.com/rift-patch/
