Patch 13.03 April 6th- Highsteppe Farms, Bug Fixes, Bard Fixes, SHEEP!

Today we will launch patch 13.03, with the launch of the farms surrounding Highsteppe, Bard updates and fixes, along with a few bug fixes, and most importantly the return of the white fluffy clouds of joy, SHEEP! Please be kind to our new four legged friends, they die easily and are hard for the farmers to replace.

Patch Notes

  • Added Highsteppe Farms and Fishing Shack to the the area around Highsteppe town
    • There is now a new dock to fish from near the Kingsport Graveyard
  • Added sheep and chickens animals to the farms
  • Updated Bjorn Stafrute spawner position to not walk through farms to prevent leashing problems
  • Updated the Mines Dungeon to remove the Elite Brute from mob nearest the Scav Shaman boss :small_blue_diamond:
  • Added visual reference for quest players inside of the Sewer Dungeon where the buckets will “splash” down :small_blue_diamond:
  • Updated trade window to show tool tips (EX: You can now see the colors of the dragon you are trading for) :small_blue_diamond:
  • Updated all Legendary items to have "Legendary: " in front of their item name to make it clearer to players their status :small_blue_diamond:
    • This was already being done to weapons, we extended this to other items like the Overworld Legendary drops
  • Fixed server side bug causing server shard crashes related to player stats
  • Updated/Fixed Bard talents/instruments/super/general
    • Talents
      1. Increased Upbeat speed from 10% to 30%
      2. Added a glow effect to notes if Upbeat is selected
      3. Increased chance of generating an Empowered Note if Encore is selected from 10% to 15%
      4. Successfully hit Empowered Notes generate a crescendo faster
      5. Tripled potency of Song Shield buff
    • Instruments
      1. Fixed Instrument of Protection passive in PvE
      2. Fixed Instrument of Protection DoT debuff applied to enemies (should now DECREASE enemy DoT by 5%)
      3. Doubled range of buff applied to allies for Instrument of Protection crescendo
      4. Fixed Instrument of Defense passive in PvE
      5. Fixed Instrument of Defense projectile damage debuff applied to enemies (should now DECREASE enemy projectile damage by 5%)
      6. Doubled range of buff applied to allies for Instrument of Protection crescendo
    • Super
      1. Decreased Bard Inspiration cool down by half
    • General
      1. Updated Upbeat talent description
    • In addition to these changes we can confirm that
      1. Instrument of Inspiration DOES function
      2. Upbeat DOES work but we think the new changes will make it more noticeable to the player that it is working properly

While some of the fixes for the bard were closer to a balance pass then true mechanic fixes, we wanted to get the class closer to its intended state before we start looking at the overall healer/tank/support balance pass. These are just cursory adjustments and we will be looking at all the numbers again in the coming balance pass, meaning that some of the increased numbers could be decreased or increased more. We will begin collecting data on all the classes for this upcoming balance pass in the coming weeks, and will work closely with the community as we did on the DPS balance pass.

First impressions on Encore and Upbeat:

Upbeat, Protection, Defense passive working. Encore Empowered notes now count for 2 notes instead of 1.5. VERY interesting and I’m gonna have to do some testing to see what is the new meta.

Quick question regarding Defense Crescendo:

Defense Crescendo removes a buff from enemies?

Oops, we meant the other one, which cleanses a debuff.

It seems like players are able to log in or zone as usual now, but we’re monitoring the situation.

We just ran a Mines 14 and 15, and the Elite Brute was still there :frowning2:

Was it removed due to agroing it during boss or what? That is the only thing I can think of that is not that the group is a harder group to deal with.

I do not want to be a Debbie downer,
why would you pay such attention :thinking: to Bard a class few really play versus tank or shaman or,etc?

Because people don’t play bard because up untill this patch it was broken. The tanks and other classes are fine mechanic wise and they are planning on a tank and healer balence soon and its hard to balance a broken class

The trees to enrage treesus have all been moved and 3 of them are now inside of walls.

I couldn’t find the last one, also the ones inside walls seem to also be invincible, even AoEs don’t hit


banjo music starts playing in the distance monster starts sweating lol I always think of Bards as comic relief characters in D&D.

1: Bard has been known to be broken for a year. A full year. It’s one of the two healer classes, that’s kinda important.
2: Tank balance pass is coming soon.
3: Shaman was just adjusted in the DPS patch.
4: Most people who didn’t play Bard avoided it because it was so broken.
