Just curious what others are thinking… I myself find it hard to aim w/ some bows as the double glows make it nearly impossible to see where I am aiming. I line up before it charges and pray they dont move… xD
I generally angle the bow and aim through the arrow V.
I’ve experimented with different ways of holding my bow. I’ve found that the best way to avoid the effect and still have an accurate shot is by tilting your bow a good 45º +/- and pulling more to the armpit as opposed to the shoulder. It may not be accurate at first. But give it a little practice and you’ll see it works quite nice.
My guess is that the models for these special arrows are designed to maintain their effect and shape from waist to target. It may not have been directly intentional to block our view, but I believe it’s a side effect of having these “auras”. Maybe down the road we’ll see options for reduced effects or options to remove auras.
Could just make the entire arrow an aura around waist, and have a small glimmer of that color as the arrowhead and no particles or any other number of non-cloud forming vision blockers. xD
I shoot archery IRL, so it was different to me to have to change for a game… but once you figure it out, its just as accurate.
Side note; I wish there was a quiver in the off hand slot fornour chars that we can have stats on… such as ‘‘an additional special arrow slot’’ (this idea is in another thread, so I won’t drag on.)
I use bows, both compound and traditional IRL. It was a bit jarring at first, but in the end just requires a different stance. Hold the bow horizontal with your arm extended, and draw to an anchor point to ensure identical shot distance at a given shot angle. I personally draw to my armpit.
This is a far more reliable way of aiming than trying to use it as you would IRL, and after a few hours you’ll be nailing shots 50 meters out fairly easily. Overdrawing the bow can make it harder to aim, but you’ll shoot much farther. Best shot so far was a small target at 92m!
In another post… maybe on discord… I explained how I take advantage of distance shot on tougher mobs… like stars and tough reds. I explained how I shoot at the 50-60m distance and are able to cycle and kill mobs before they reach me. But I think 60 is the farthest you can activate a target. Bc I can hit them at 62-65m but they don’t activate, and at 59 they will. Food for thought.
