Thank you Orbus - Foxy

I might have forgotten about some things so please forgive me, if I played with you but did not include you, I might’ve just forgotten. Please forgive me for this.

Pre-VR Headset

I remember being in primary school when I was being bullied my life pretty much sucked. I was by myself almost always and didn’t talk much. I was browsing the internet in what for us is the 7th grade and I stumbled upon a video of someone using a VR headset. I got really interested in it and did more research. I ended up seeing a game called OrbusVR and told my 1 friend all about it. I was so so excited and wanted to play…

First time on Orbus

2 Years later it happened. I had a PC that was VR ready and bought a used Rift CV1. I tried searching for OrbusVR but only saw OrbusVR Reborn and got really confused and searched for OrbusVR for like 30 mins until I just downloaded the demo and played Reborn. I got really sick which shook me off from the game and I didn’t end up touching it for like 6-9 months.

Starting Orbus as a green leaf

I started the game as a mage, I completely sucked. I only leveled up through killing and I only cared about fighting stuff. When I was around level 20, I met someone named Pooskii I really got along with. We both got to level 30 and made a guild called Mythical and it was awesome. We were a big guild with a mix of green leaves and level 30’s. This was when I first really got sucked into the game, it was the reality I always dreamt off.

We kept the guild alive for a while but suddenly lots of people didn’t start playing, Pooskii suddenly disappeared, and the guild died off. Me and another officer decided to make another guild called The Chosen Ones and we kept that running. The officer’s name was Krpr and we were good friends. We did many fun stuff with the guild and it was nice. Covid was there but times were good.

Once The Chosen Ones died off I kept of switched between guilds, I remember being in Rebels for a while which was fun, I also joined Dysfunctional after Overrated overheard me and Infiniterune talking about how the guild was full and I couldn’t join, Overrated being the cooler guild leader kicked an afk account and allowed me to join hehe.

Around this time I remember being a really awful mage. I was between 10-30K and my highest shard was a 6 Crypt which I really struggled on. I’ve been in groups talking with people wanting to do higher level shards but people never wanted me to come because of the awful mechanics and DPS.

Journey into Elysium

I also aspired to join the best guild in the game which was Elysium, I remembered seeing Tallia Snow in the game when I was still the leader of the Chosen Ones but besides that I didn’t know too much about it. I know a really good friend named ItzTyla also joined Elysium around that time which also inspired me to go there.

I signed up as an applicant and had to do an applicant run. I had to get the interrupts on the minotaur which I struggled on and had to do around 30K. I did like 12K on the minotaur unsharded and stand still DPS and 9K on Gorgon. I failed really hard.

I started playing more and more and got better over time, I switched to pretzel method which I for some reason did counterclockwise and started going to 30-40K. I did the applicant run again and finally passed with ease. I was happy and bumped up to recruit. I also met OsciPlaski then which is important for later on.

I started playing more with the people of Elysium and started meeting more and more people. I know I still looked up to all those amazing end game players and being somewhat intimidated. When I did my first run for member, I also failed pretty hard. My add prioritization was off, I didn’t do the 70K potted I had to do and my mechanics weren’t there. It was my first 15 and I forgot to roll on it too :frowning:

After that I got told to practice more and so I did, I worked my ass off, switched over to rotation mage and tried harder and harder to get into the guild. I have met really amazing people like Khalid, SMILE, Cabbah, Lz, Angryking, Ghin, Anti, ChaoticZAZA and a lot more.

I ended up retrying becoming a member of Elysium and we did another shard with Tallia Snow, Richleth, OskiPlaski and Loganator. We did a Sewer, and I did pretty good, I easily got 70K and I did the mechanics I had to do. I fit all the requirements, but I still wasn’t accepted because I had to do one more thing.

(I had to write a love letter to OsciPlaski to officially become an Elysium member^^)

I wrote a poem to him and finally got accepted…

Everything changed after, I cannot express how good of a time I had with Elysium. I was accepted by them and cared for; they were there for me. I’ve spent a bunch of my time playing with them, doing shard, raids and just chilling. I felt comfortable with them, something I haven’t felt for years since that point.

I ended up practicing so much I became the best mage in the game for a while. I was one of the few 100K+ mages in the game and parsed frequently on Cindy.

Citadel came out which wasn’t special, but Hard mode Citadel was the raid that changed a lot. Bucky was the one that created the awesome Pizza method for boss 1. Richleth was strategizing a lot on Boss 2 and Boss 3 was very straight forward and it was only harder on the scoundrel.

I want to end my little chapter talking about Elysium by thanking every single member in the guild, from the Wardens Taki, Bucky, Logie, Richleth and Osci all the way to the awesome members like FrostFox, Loljong, AnxiousPanic, Anti, Lexy, Ghin, Angry Bloodshot, BadFortune, Ghin, charmaster, Celebi, Agro and Logan to the people that have played we less frequently like Promie, Null, Leon, Chaotic, Log, Logie and Zanros.

You people were there when I needed someone and have helped me in so many ways. I left twice for stupid reasons; I was confused and pretty scared with discovering being a furry etc and I pushed the people in guild away. I still regret ever leaving and am thankful I got accepted now that I am way more clearheaded. So, thank you, thank you for this amazing growth, I finally see now how much Elysium has meant for me

Boss 4 Citadel HM

When Citadel HM first came out, I played with Ark U. Elysium had a special group, and I wasn’t sadly selected for it at the time. We tried and learned a lot about the bosses. I studied B1-3 and tried strategizing on it, I wasn’t too successful. Boss 4 is a boss that was barely done, some groups wanted to get it done but none were really successful. Until Scott’s group came along…

I remember first hearing about it and I really wanted to come. I didn’t know Scott too well at the time but did knew some of the players in there. I remember asking Scott in the same week they were bound to defeat it and after asking got invited. They explained me the strat and it was really cool. I got to do boss DPS because of my affixes and I got really got at it.

I continued playing with the group and we had a lot of fun, I really enjoyed my time with them and found it nice how we were all so relaxed and comfortable with the group eventually. It was also fun seeing all the bugs (features ) the boss had. I want to give a very special thanks for allowing me to have such a good time with everyone that was in the group, I enjoyed my time with every one of you. Beef, Kefka, buckyboy, Werehound, Richleth, EwokBlaster, Lz, Malchin, camboy, vodkaa, Potato, smile, OsciPlaski, Talia.

Thank you for the amazing time in the group!

We eventually got it till the point where we wanted to share our strategy with everyone, so we recorded our kill. https ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgbaR6M9G28&t=435s this is the link to our kill.

From here more guild started to kill the boss, SHEIKAH, VIRUS, Thrive were the first guilds to kill it. I got into the hard mode group with Elysium, and we were throwing ourselves at the boss every week trying to kill it. We were careful and we ended up getting a decent time too.

We were still a top guild and wanted a good time, so we ended up doing it faster and faster. But the current strat did not work to get a good time. Thrive ended up working on a speedrun strat that got them a kill of under 6 mins. It was seen as impossible. I got really annoyed and wanted to get my own strat for it too.

2 Boss DPS + 1 Hybrid DPS Normal Strategy

I first thought of using 3 DPS that were on the boss instead of 2. We didn’t use the modern strat to always get 2 circles but the old-fashioned Scott way. The strat worked but we never executed it fully. The furthest we got was till green phase. The problem was that we tried it only a couple times.

The only difference for this strat was that we made use of the high DPS of Elysium so that instead of having 4 we had 3 add DPS and had a hybrid DPS who burned the boss when he could but when we needed the help on adds for green he would turn around and help. Mechanics wise it was harder too but Elysium was very capable

Femboy Strat

Yes this is the name we gave it after completing it. The strat was so much different then everything we ever tried. Instead of boss or add DPS we used all our DPS on boss. We had our special speedrun group and I tactically had all mages with a Scoundrel and a Ranger.

We went full burn with 7 DPS, 2 Pally’s and 1 Bard. We stood in a half circle, burned the boss to red within 15 seconds so we always stacked up on the 2nd circle drop.

Green phase was reached within 20 seconds. We had our boss tank move the boss out of the way and everyone else spread out. We continued burning and burning and eventually opened the portal.

Blue phase was the same, stupidly burning and we then sacrificed the bard and cleared the portal. We then spread out and just burned.

We ended up clearing the boss within 6 minutes too and it was the biggest accomplishment I achieved with Elysium.

I came up with the base of the strat but with the help of the people in the group we fine-tuned it into becoming the strat that would help us kill the boss. That is why I want to give a special thanks to the people in the group, you all know who you are!!

Tile sets

I friendly made fun of Brettman for enjoying tiles and making the tile server, it was a fun joke. I didn’t realize that a couple months later I ended up getting to love them too.

I spent hours and hours analyzing rotations and tile sets and see what I could improve, I started with mage and ended up with Ranger, Scoundrel and then it stopped. Shaman in Greg was too hard hehe

I have made many new tile sets for both beginners and more experienced players. From making a good poison bullet dump build for scoundrel, to optimizing normal Ranger for Shady.

The biggest achievement was discovering Affliction-Fire aka Meltdown being better than normal rotation on 2.5 hps. I immediately called Warfort and we both ended up experimenting.

A big thanks to Warfort for introducing me to tiles + Gutsash, Scott, Astragt and FourOfSpades for making tiles the way they are.

Time Travel Manipulation Ranger

Mage is fun and I still consider myself to be a mage at heart. It did get a little repetitive with already achieving a number 1 spot for a while (I was beat by awesome mages like Ethan and Katsui ). I wanted something different, so I stumbled upon this Ranger build that only Astragt was known perform.

I heard you had to curve your arrows so I shot at like an 80 degree angle and barely hit the dummy. I continued like this for weeks until I uploaded my first video which is now sadly deleted and I got told I was doing it very wrong. It made me think and after checking the times of Ranger and finally understood and slightly curved my arrows while not pulling the bow back really far and I got to practicing.

I continuously parsed on Ranger and got better and better, I went higher and higher on the leaderboard and ended up on the 2nd place skill wise, I am 3rd on the global board because I never used a +7 when I actively played. I am very proud being in the top 3 best Rangers and from there I just drifted off and never really tried getting on the level of Astragt even tho I was motivated for a while.

Blockgames

Blockgames went wild, the people in there were so much fun! From the Canadian duo Katsui and Tricycletin to Yagbe and Grimm to Agro, Celebi and charmaster. I had a lot of fun with them, we started out as a Minecraft server and we then as a group decided to do an ironman on different classes as mutes on our alts.

It was so much fun and we ended up finishing Citadel NM. I got to heal and with very bad armour and managed to do a pretty good job! It was a lot of fun playing with the Blockgames group and I won’t forget them!

OrbusVR Community

The community is something I will never forget, I have so many good and amazing memories of all the people that I got to play with. Just like Elysium having a big impact on my life I can say the same for all the other people I got to meet. I have been helped, lifted and got to help a lot of people and these will be memories that will forever stay with me.

I remember doing a lot of silly things too, dumb fights and even getting myself banned. I remember being sooo addicted to the game I wanted to quit by getting myself banned. I was a dumb kid back then and want to apologize to anyone I have done harm.

I am sad the game is gone but I feel like this is also an opportunity, every adventure has to come to an end so this too was eventually coming. The developers were kind enough to wish us the very best on our new adventure and I feel like instead of being sad, I can feel happy and grateful I got to spend this time and meet all these people.

And now after experiencing OrbusVR I can venture into a new adventure where I am sure I can experience a lot of new cool people and the amazing times I will have with them and maybe tell them about the awesome stories and adventures in the realm of Täella-Oso.

The 3000+ hours were really worth it!

Thank you for your time and I wish you the very best in your next adventures! May our paths meet again!
