The Great HTC Vive Headset Sweat Topic

I would love to hear any suggestions from people if you have found any particular headbands, peripherals, etc. that work well for you to reduce sweat / heat from the headset and allow you to play longer without having to take a break from Orbus.

I have the Vive N Chill fans and can attest that they make a huge difference in keeping the top of my head cool.
I’m naturally like a nuclear furnace inside even in winter and not moving.

Also have a room fan I put in the corner of my roomscale space to blow on my feet/legs, and I always play barefoot (and in shorts).

Vive n chill was too loud for me but it worked. I honestly just crank down the AC now if it is too hot.

I know Logan wears a sweat band.

I wear a sweatband, turn down the heat from 70 to 65, and wear shorts/T-shirt. It’s necessary for me when I do any hardcore tanking lol

Vrcovers.com. it was recommended to me and I played 3 dats before getting the cloth ones in the mail. It is easily added/removed and washable, I got the other type beside cloth for demoing since it’s easy to wipe clean. Mine are for vive and they feel really nice on the skin! They also do them for oculus and others.

Shorts, t-shirt, reduce the heat, and taking a break once in a while to take the headset off and wipe the sweat off of my face; followed by cursing as I get sweat in my eye, a deep sigh, and then putting the headset back on.

I read that the new vive pro has a new face cushion and nose pad that do a better job of blocking out light (ie: Reducing what little air flow there is and keeping your face in a sweat box).

I purchased a couple VRcovers from Amazon and they work pretty well. About once an hour, I wipe the sweat off my brow with a towel and clean the lenses on the Vive with a microfiber cloth. I keep a bottle of water close when I play as well which helps. I also have a small honeywell fan that circulates the air well in my office and keeps it relatively cool.

Does the Vive n Chill actually do anything? I had snowboard goggles with fans like that once and they didn’t do crap.

But, that was more for fogging issues not just sweat. I haven’t had any issues with fogging in the Vive but I do with the WMR headset.
