The journal, compass and inventory need some changes

The player journal needs colored bookmarks for quests, stats, class information, lore, maps, and spells.

The compass needs to be able to toggle between showing people, places, and even just North.

The inventory needs separate categories for reagents, ingredients, lures, clothes and weapons.

These accessibility updates would make the game a lot more comfortable.

While I don’t think an inventory change is nessesary as I want to see all of my important stuff on the first page, I agree with your other 2 as well as an ability to go straight to a bookmark!

I definitely think the inventory needs categorical tabs - I keep losing my important stuff in all the clutter of everything I pick up.

We already have tabs. Anyone can use them however they want. To limit items to certain tabs wouldn’t add anything especially since you can already do that.

What I do is I have all weapons and classes on the first tab. Then I place a single reed flute every empty slot on the first tab. That way everything gets placed in the second tab. The important things are right in front of me at a moments notice and everything else is a tab away.

So instead of tabs that do all of this for the players - like most MMOs do already, you would have everyone do their own tedious workaround by filling their inventories with junk?

As an alternative to your “fill every slot with 1 reed flute” strategy I always just leave a single herb/ore/fish/whatever in the position that I want it in my inventory instead of dumping every item. That way any additional items I pick up are where I expect them to be.

I didn’t think of that!

As an example, I decided to dedicate tab 2 to fishing ingredients/lures. I have far more than what is pictured here stored in my chests, but these are the items I pick up frequently with what I’m doing at the moment. So I put one of each in the position I wanted in tab 2 and any additional items I pick up after that are automatically added to that stack.

It takes a little time the first pass through, but I prefer having my stuff semi-organized and as long as you don’t die in the wilds you won’t have to redo it beyond that.
