Trickster Goblin Day 2 Discussion

Aight, then yea if they don’t move for awhile BEACON EM :space_invader:.

Why? What would be the argument against having a beacon atleast in the general area of the carrier?

The zones are too big to NOT have that and make not RNG. If I am on one side of the zone and Mr.Person.Who.Killed.Goblin is on the other side, even with an indicator I wont get there in time. They will be gone.

I understand not having a beacon directly above the head of the person carrying it… But a beacon in the area that they are would be very helpful… Otherwise its just an egg hunt… Which is boring.

So far I have wasted my time 4 times logging in for the spawn. The first time it was taken and the person who got it was gone and out the zone. The second time graveyards were camped, the third time graveyards were camped. This time it was found by ‘someone’ and thats just it… headless chicken pvp starts… Without a clear directive its just boring.

Weren’t u the one who was most against this earlier? Because something something yada yada monopolization

Not sure where you came to that conclusion.

But that is just the issue right now… If the person who finds it is in your group the old heart gets pumping… The adrenaline and dopamine levels rise and it is what we call ‘fun’. For everyone else it is a mix of sad disappointment and confusion.

Mabye here?

No? That is an argument for a beam sir.

But u were denying Shiki who u quoted and was saying for a beam…

There is no denial in that post… People can quote each other without it being against lol.

The fun is in escorting that person or grouping together before you even kill it. Strategy is the most fun for me, so I really don’t care if I’m not the one who find it. Maybe I’m the one scouting exits or fighting to clear a path. Stuff like that is fun.

heh, try the secret quest, that one’s so much fun

but actually on topic, I think having a beacon on the person with the tokens that updates every x seconds(maybe minutes) would be the best way of doing it.
that way you would have an idea of the direction they’re headed, while not knowing exactly where and will also actually know when the tokens reached highsteppe.
How often it updates would probably need some testing and tweaking to get it to where it’s not too much of a disadvantage for the carrier, but also doesn’t leave the rest clueless.

and can you stop the unnecessary, non-constructive argument kamina and J? not really any help

I mean… I haven’t really argued anything… I just don’t appreciate being completely misquoted.

Yes your solution above would work I think too. +1 to that.

You don’t need to walk across. In this situation, you (the person not being disabled from carrying the tokens) would usually have three main options.

  1. Teleport to a closer pillar without letting the person get too far away (because teleporting to another pillar inside the same zone has no loading)
  2. Teleport into a nearby area to try and predict our movement and block us off.
  3. Guard one of the entrances to Highsteppe or one of the exits of the Trickster Goblin zone it was in.

Some bonus options (if you have some more resources) could include:

  • Having some Speed potions to catch up
  • Coordinating with your group to block all escape possibilities
  • Invisibility potioning to make an area that once seemed clear not so clear.

Yes there are options… But if you have a team of 3 forced to split up to any of those random options you have no chance of stopping the opposing force… It is pretty much game over by that point. Impossible to catch up due to the size of the area.

That has been my experience so far anyway. In theory; great ideas. In practice; unrealistic… Not possible.

All of these options assume you were not killed while loading in or in a fight with someone already.

Good point but also… They assume you know for sure who you are chasing… Right now, we do not.

If u get killed nothing bad happens, u are in the same zone just a slightly different spot

Merely mentioning that the use of resources is dependent upon having them which depends on you not having died. Something bad does happen: you lose all your tradable items to your killer

Edit: no reagents means no teleports, no potions means no speed boosts or invisibility

Potions fonts drop off your belt and there is a easy way to keep reagents

Communication is key, and if the enemy is spotted by one of you split up, it would be unwise to attempt to 3v1. It would be much better to regroup while either stalling or maintaining an eye on the movement of the enemy, then fight. This has already happened twice now I think.

Not sure if it’s possible to invis then teleport, but there you go. If it isn’t, there are other pillars…

If the group that has it is large enough to split into a fake group to throw the enemy off the trail, that’s just strategy. If another pvp group fight you thinking you have the tokens and vice versa, good. The event is supposed to be flooded with pvp, even though only one person has the prize pot.

Potions equipped to your belt do not drop, so no problem bringing speed + invis. And reagents are easy to keep.
