Unable to grip anything

I just got the Valve index, and find myself unable to grip anything on my character. Just to be sure, I am using the trigger button, and I see the index finger moving inwards when it is pressed. But nothing happens when I do so over an item.

On the chance this is a bug with my character, I am a returning character after playing maybe 2 years ago on the Vive. I tried un-equipping the items and then re-equipping, with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Edit: this was solved by adjusting the grip strength needed to be count as “pressed” from 80 to 30 in my steam vr controller settings. As gripping was not being recognized previously.

You use the grip to grab items, not the trigger.

Hello,

As you said, it was the grips. I went into the VR controller settings (not the game settings) and adjusted the default press strength needed to be accepted(default weas 80, which didnt seem to be accepted on my controller, but 30 worked), and this worked.
