I’m actually really liking the low drop rate of wooden cogs. Veteran players have been asking for something that’s challenging/takes a grind, and you delivered.
Uhm and what’s the great “challenge” about that please…? Most of us spend every minute of their evenings in dungeons anyway, it is hardly relevant what drops there or not.
Less drops = more weeks waiting for stuff while playing as usual, nothing else changes.
(Well, granted, when we at first believed they were dropping from normal dungeons, only, all were hyped and tried to farm them. However, if the rate is so low that you can do that 2h without anyone getting anything, people loose interest and drop it again; as for farming them, in my timezone the queue never pops during the day, and the evening time where we get a group together, at all, is better spent on shards.)
These deco items are not posing a challenge for many I guess, since they drop from activities people do anyway, for other reasons (and those who don’t like events will hardly do 150, suddenly, to get the springs together for the mount or so… these low rates are doing the opposite, they make people not even try).
The tinkerer stuff got one purpose that makes sense, to freshen up economy. However, this fails if people are able to craft 1 item only after weeks of dungeoning and the market stays vast and empty (not even buying other materials makes sense if one kind is always missing).
PS: Fun fact, the community likes grinding sooo much that hardly anyone bothered to farm perk trees, despite that 2-3 of them are not just deco, but fairly attractive for gameplay. I am one of these “veteran players”, #4 in overlevels, currently, more fond of grinding than almost everyone I know… If even I get bored (currently with events; I tried to get the springs together to craft at least all items once, for myself; but 2h without any drops is just superboring), well, something is perhaps off. Every other game I play, even if grindy, hands out more progress experience.
so uuuuuhhhhh, ever gonna do some class balancing?
2h of events. No drops. Currently forums are more exciting than the game itself…
Is it wishing time? I’d like to have a…
- useful Scoundrel super
- Paladin unbending
And back to events. (If u see me bumping into rocks or not noticing questions, blame the netflix window in front of my face).
Scoundrel Super change is coming in for Tuesday’s patch, and Paladin Unbending is something on our list that we want to fix when we get a chance. We’re definitely tracking it.
Can’t tell did not get any yet… only a kindof surreal feeling when “a blueprint nibbled on my lure but did not bite”
Got none from yesterday’s dungeons (7 * 2 * 5 = 70 chances), but 3 others got one. The question is what Tinkerer items are meant for, trading or the final rare reward for playing alot. Did 20 events yesterday too, got only 1 spring; that many I only can pull off on weekends though. And eventually I will get a cog every 2nd day if we keep up doing around 5-7 daily dungeons, so in around a month I will be having all mats together to craft the mount or a chair or something.
However I’m a vendor, planed to open a furniture shop and all … slowly guess all my hopes and dreams are shattered
So I farmed with someone else about ~16 hours with the focus on only getting wood cogs. We got a good amount but sometimes we wouldn’t get one for over 1 hour. Looking at the droprate and comparing to how much time this will take for someone doing shards and for someone farming for those wood cogs I do still think the droprate is a bit too low. Increasing the droprate just a little bit more should be sufficient.
Metal Springs is the only other item that you will have to farm even slower then the wood cogs. I do think those should also be increased at-least a bit. It can take hours just like wood cogs to get 1 spring. The grind is just a little to high. But a big change in droprate is not needed. A small one is.
Unless the goal was for very active players to be sellers of those items. Then the droprate of springs and cogs probably need a drastic increase. If you want to keep the stuff as rare items then the current droprate but a bit higher should be sufficient.
Yup that is what Tinkerer was meant for. To reward a fraction of players for nuking a normal boss several 100 times, for 16h in a row. I mean, seriously? I am ALL for rewarding the (imo more than dull) grinding activities, the Arcane Mount for example drops for the same well… dedication to do repetitive stuff. That is fine.
But the crafting station looked more promising than giving a cookie item out every few weeks (considered you are a normal player, very active in dungeons, and farm events on weekends)
All the rest who doesn’t see the point in resetting dungeons over, and over, and over, for hours, can hang up an Orbus Picture in their house, tomorrow
So much for the Tinkerer, if newbs ask how to get items I’d flatout tell them not to even bother.
The feature is dead in the water with current rates and with “a bit higher” rates certainly as well. I know many who were hyped, but gave up on it the first weekend when it was clear the rate is around 10% for events.
As you rightly pointed out, the market is empty, I won’t have superfluous any time soon or bother farming like this, just to sell stuff. They could as well not make these items sellable - no amount of dram will really suffice to match this time and efforts for the mount, for example.
The orb mount being rare is something which is - perhaps - justified btw (however, I wouldn’t even use it, the Arcane Mount looks so much cooler…). But all these deco items which just sit in your house?!
PS: Btw I got 3 cog drops, alltogether. Farmed the Mutated Rat 20-30 times or more with friends, 6 times alone due to everyone else finding it pointless (that takes around an hour tho), went to 42 normal & shard dungeons. Events I didn’t even count, must’ve been 100 or more. Spent half days and full weekends on event-farming alone - noone did more overlevels in the last 6 days, according to armory.
And yep, I got an Orbus Picture for my house, so far :D!
So did this happen? And if so let pvp players use the camera in their house plz?
eh, the tinkerer tools are tradable again? I just noticed that the lantern and ravens camera are both tradable and I’m pretty sure ther weren’t after you made them come in crates so something probably happened in the last update that made them tradable again.
Yeah, it got reverted somehow and we’ll have a patch for it tomorrow to make them untradeable again. Sorry about that.
This didn’t happen. Confirmed by someone with PvP off. What happened? No time to implement it? Can we at-least know why it did not get implemented because it was promised?
I think we didn’t have time to get it in for the patch, but will follow up on it.
