I used to play on quest/oculus before the facebook takeover and I was becoming proficient with the D fireball 2 method, I was getting pretty quick. I can’t get the D to work at all on my index thru steam. I can B cast fine, but that is harder to spam and slower in all cases. I found a “squiggle” that is somewhere between an oval and an hourglass that triggers…
I can’t speak for everyone, but I definitely feel the difference… but I am re-getting the hang of it … definitely felt like I started over tho.
I swapped from Oculus to Index and noticed the difference. A good controller configuration and changing the default weapon angles helped. It takes some time getting used to it, like all things, but not being able to turn with the wand equipped is just painful.
The issue is no matter what controllers you have , if you open thru just steamvr it places you in vive orientation which is 45 degree angled upward from touch controllers.
If I open thru steam routed to oculus sdk , then it works fine (except for line attacks that shoot off at vive orientation while appearing to shoot at touch orientation making all lineattacks useless till you figure that out or just melee cast all of them /rant)
i tried it on steamvr and i strongly disagree, i have to bend my wrist all the way to get a good angle and it’s very uncomfortable. i have armrests on my chair.
I’m sitting cross legged in a chair and rest my offhand on my knee. It’s definitely an adjustment, but you do get used to it
not being able to turn sucks though lol
