Third day playing the game and really enjoying it so far. I saw another thread that seemed to indicate someone else lost items while fishing and it happened to me tonight. I swapped my weapon with my fishing pole and and caught some fish then afterwards my weapon (bow 63 damage) for my main class was gone. I’m certain it wasn’t dismantled because I didn’t have a shard even in my inventory once I was done. In the future I’m going to make sure I keep a backup weapon I suppose, but does anyone have any recommendations as I currently can’t even come close to fighting the same level mobs I was previously beating easily. I’m not sure if it matters for this type of bug but I have a i7 5820K and 1080 ti video card using an Oculus Rift headset. I saw it asked in a previous post so I figured I’d mention I had this bow for most of the day today(at least 8 hours). I also have probably received about 10 of them throughout the day today as I was grinding, but I only kept the one I had equipped and dismantled the rest.
Hmmm, I don’t recall any other threads of people losing a random weapon while fishing. Do you have a link to that thread? I must have missed it. I know there was a thread a while back about someone losing their stuff but that was in the Wilds.
If this has happened to anyone else let me know.

Yes I do recall that incident, but after handling it, it didn’t actually seem to be fishing-related. But yeah you’re right, there was a thread! 
Ok this is probably not it, but you did see the multiple tabs in the inventory?
I’m sure you did, just wanted to confirm. The item might be buried under the second tab.
(I only mention it because it took me a while before I figured out all the places that have tabs.)
Thanks for the advice. I did double check all the tabs and it appeared to be gone. Thanks Riley for replacing it and happy to say I’ve already been able to upgrade it .
Accidentally destroyed my sword and only had the first sword. It was not fun going through all the areas in the game again to update it one by one, but it went surprisingly fast to do so. Granted, it was also just a 63 sword but still =)
