Having played a warrior for many hours now and mostly grinded my way to 20 i can tell you from personal experience that this is suprisingly true at the start. It gets a bit better if u know how to handle your shield And the rhythem of the enemies attack. A shield recharge much faster then your lifebar.

Yes warrior is tough to play, especially if you have controllers that don’t allow you to strike really fast. Mages have good damage and knock backs and slows, rangers have high damage, musketeers have heals but warriors have… hopefully a musketeer healing them, or a pile of healing pots lol.

If you got XP from green triangle mobs it might not be so bad, but with the bad hit boxes and inability to land a lot of combos you will have a more difficult time.

U know you got me thinking for a bit. I’m well aware of the hitboxes as a warrior but maybe that it is part if the challenge too as a warrior. A lot of people think warriors are easy to play and just swing their sword a few times and thats it but maybe the monsters hitboxes are challenge to a warrior as are the spellweaving for a mage.

Having played a warrior for over 100 hours i know positioning and rhythem with a shield is a big deal for a warrior. I can land most combo’s on enemies even the big ones. The small ones require a certain position head on to land the combo’s right.

Part of playing a Warrior is the challenge of the hitboxes and it should require some degree of skill to fight properly. However it still is a bit of an issue when you can’t do certain strikes from the side or back of an enemy because hitboxes are so strange. Heaven forbid you’re fighting something small like a fox or leech.

Learning buggy hitboxes shouldn’t be a core mechanic in warrior… anyway it gets better. Red enemies aren’t a problem when you get the hang of it, red with poison can be sometimes. Healing is still fucked though, no point destroying my shoulders fighting those

The only problem with fighting healers is that most of them have no casting time due to animation problems. The Skugtrolls at the start of the game have a proper casting time that can be shield bashed to stop them from healing. It has been mentioned that combat animations are being worked on to fix this.

Couldn’t agree more with OP. We’re very early on into the game, but I hope the developers have plans to make the class a little more fluid.

More stuff to interrupt in the game overall would be awesome, right now you just spam it off cooldown, enemies that force you to time it to interrupt abilities would be fantastic (I know there are some but there could be way more).

I totally agree it should be challenging, but if you are standing in front of a mob and hit a perfect up and down and it registers as horizontal it can be frustrating.

Maybe it’s just me but it seems like there is a shortage of warriors playing at the moment. This could have something to do with it.

And those jungle healing mobs, no idea how lower damage class is killing them solo. Depends on the level of course but they are freaking annoying for any class.

Simple: they don’t. Their heal is not counterable and as it’s an instant cast even if you delay them with a shield bash they’ll simply use it when the stun wears off. The rainforest healer mobs are literally a Gear Check when if you aren’t strong enough to get through their healing, you may want to turn around and come back stronger or with friends.
