As always, had a lot of fun this test and continue to love the direction everything is moving.
This was the first test in a while where I didn’t have any voip problems.
It’s fun, it’s a little intense, it feels good as a VR approach to crafting. Some of the potions don’t last as long as you’d like, but that’s what potion aging is for, right? It took me a minute to realize I could organize the layout of my ingredients on the table by adjusting their positions in the inventory chest, which made it a bit easier to remember what to add, when – a nice “physical” detail that you wouldn’t see in a traditional desktop MMO.
Agree with everyone on liking the new indicators for mobs but missing level indicators for players
I couldn’t get the wave to work in front of npc’s reliably. I was waving like the inflatable flailing arm guy and couldn’t get the NPC talk to me. The NPC did have the exclamation point. I tried 3 separate quest givers.
I had this problem too multiple times. Doing all sorts of things like walking away and switching classes, removing items from both hands (instead of just one) sometimes fixed it (never knew what actually fixes it because I try a combination of them before retrying). 80% of the times the NPC waving worked just fine on the first try.
I was reading up on some of the discussion on the May 5th event and there was a lot of talk about the spell casting. I played this before it went closed alpha and casting was pretty easy so I was a bit shocked at how hard it was. A bit frustrated several times. Quit once in frustration. And I love it!! Imho, as others have mentioned, being a mage should not be easy! A couple of spells, sure, but, to me, a mage is supposed to study to learn spells, not have them handed to him! Spells are supposed to be difficult! Anyway, just adding my two cents.
I am not sure if I seen it mentioned, but the turret for the musketeer is in the same spot as the left side tool slot. Meaning if you have your harvester equipped in one tool slot and a potion equipped in the other tool slot, then either the harvester or the potion will be clipping inside the turret, making both hard to grab. Perhaps consider moving the turret to the right side chest area, opposite the compass.
