Change the way invisibility potion works

Earlier today someone came and killed a whole team of 5 of us in the wilds using an invisibility potion.

We cannot see them, we cannot attack them, it is just shots from an invisible guy.

Of course they did this whilst we were fighting an aberration and basically 1 shot our healers to start the damage then went on us instead.

Get a whole teams grinded loot for a single pop of an invisibility potion without any chance of the team fighting back? Sure why not!

Please can you make players with invisibility potion semi-transparent and attackable? Or remove invisibility as soon as the player is in combat?

Thanks,

then it wouldnt be an invisability potion :stuck_out_tongue:

personally i dont think you should change it that way, its annoying when games make invisibility potions that make you not invisible. but maybe make it if they pulled a weapon out you could see it

It is more the problem that you cannot attack them.

Did you try any AoE effects? That seems like a decent counterplay strategy.

Invis potions should break if you attack. I assumed it was just used to sneak past people. Not to destroy entire teams. It’s pretty overpowered.

Unless the aged potion lasts much longer, you shouldn’t have too much trouble defending yourself for the duration, once you realize what’s going on.

Altogether, the invisibility potion is easily the most costly potion, in almost every way. It takes tons of wilds fish, some annoying-to-gather herbs (albeit, no wilds herbs), and a ridiculous aging period. If it didn’t have a fun effect, I’d be very sad.

Sometimes, the other guys are just better equipped than you.

Maybe make it where you can c them with an Ithecac potion if you can’t already?

Ithecac would be neat. A spell would be a solid mechanic, too. Faerie fire, anyone?

Just for the record i have tested invisibility potion in depth and you can hit them you just have to find them. Also that apply to both aged and not aged.

Where are you getting this info? Have you done any testing on it? I can tell you this is not a true statement. I think invisibility pots are fine where they are. As Seurimas said they take a ton of expensive rare mats and take a long time to make.

Make Rangers darkness arrow reveal invisibility!

you cannot attack them because you cannot see them until it is too late. That is my point… Not because the hitbox is switched off. From testing I have seen the hitbox is still active.

its the finding part which is ridiculous. Of course they will move themselves around whilst attacking. how can I know where they are when they attack?

There are ways/strategies to pop them out of invisibility. It is satisfying when you pop them out, b/c that is a lot of resources they lost.

But they have a hit on you already, and equal blows for blows, by the time you pop them they would have two? Maybe it would be funner if damage were nerfed whilst invisible?

does decurse work if you manage to hit them?

So the way it is supposed to work:

  1. If the person who used the invisibility potion enters combat, it should break. That includes you hitting them with an offensive spell or them attacking someone else.

  2. Even if they are still invisible, you can still hit them with something (e.g. a Musketeer poison-turret combo) to bring them out of it.

We will re-verify that both of those are happening correctly but last time we checked, it was, and others in the thread seem to be indicating it is.

As for providing other ways of seeing someone who is using one, such as a counter-potion or something, I will consider that. But basically the intent is that you can use it to sneak past/around someone, or get a drop on them, but it’s not like it keeps you invisible the whole fight or something.

That doesn’t seem to be happening, We were getting attacked by 3 invisible players without the breaking out, also spoke to someone who has used them to kill others and he said that it didn’t break on combat when he used it either

It currently does not break on combat. It breaks as soon as someone takes damage which is how I think it should be. It last a short duration, takes a lot of mats, and is pretty easy to break people out of. We got attacked the other day by someone using an invis pot and when they attack you can see their position to pop them out of it. We immediately popped them out of it and killed them. It was funny and satisfying to us b/c that is a lot of mats and time lost when they used it just to die.

I would leave it the way it is and make a counter potion that would see invisible people. That would be cool. I could imagine someone sneaking up on a victim thinking they are invisible about to attack not realizing their victim took an anti-invis pot and then turned around and killed invisible person.

I’ve always hated PvP, myself. But stuff like this is probably the reason for that. Popping an invis. pot should really only get you the drop on someone. As soon as you hit someone with a spell, it should break. If what people are saying in this thread is true, and that they’re remaining invisible even during combat, then that’s just broken.
