Decurse broken in dungeons

There has been several times where the decurse spell hasn’t worked in dungeons. I find myself having to cast the spell and hit myself with it twice just to get poison to drop off and by that time I have a sliver of health left or I’ve already died. This only seems to happen when using the spell on yourself. This is very frustrating because normally I get my decurse off before the poison can even do damage to me… but for whatever reason I am still poisoned. It is especially annoying when I have to redo the spell and then I get hit by bolts because I am distracted by something that shouldn’t even be happening. I know the spell is hitting my hit box because it makes the sound of the spell explosion right after leaving the wand.

Have seen this happen to Sift MANY times.

I’ve been having the same issue since yesterday. For awhile, it seemed like the hitbox for hitting yourself was made much smaller or moved. However, I was able to mana shield myself successfully consistently (outside of dungeons).

Ya it’s brutal especially how hard poison ticks in higher dungeons, very low chance you can call out decurse didn’t work before you die

Was this happening in every dungeon or is this happening for specific debuffs in particular?

every dungeon, poison specifically

We had a theory that ‘break-it’ was doubling poisons too… But maybe that is just our imagination.

I can’t really think of a reason why Decurse wouldn’t be working appropriately…is it possible that either a) the mechanic is re-applying Poison to you quickly (you didn’t mention specifically which mechanic was causing the poison so I didn’t know), or b) that you had another debuff that the Decurse is clearing instead (it doesn’t just specifically go after Poison)?

At any rate, I added some additional logging just now so let me know the next time you do a run and see it happening and I can look at what’s going on hopefully.

Its happening from the poison from the floating tree mobs.

Okay…I see in the logs the decurse working properly and removing a variety of effects (including Poison). I guess what would be helpful at this point is for someone to let me know e.g. “At exactly 6:45 PM last night I noted that we saw an issue where I had to do Decurse 3 times in a row on a player to get it to clear” so then I can check and see if it removed a different effect, didn’t remove anything at all, etc.

i believe i remember that the bard decurse was removing friendly/good effects instead of harmful ones before we stopped using it because the entire orb is useless because it makes each tick stronger and as i said removes ally buffs

I think it might have something to do with where the client sees the spell and where the server sees the spell.
The other day I was running some dungeons and a mage got poisoned, cast decurse and for him, he got hit by it, but on my side it was released in front of him and just flew forward into the ground.
He did not get decursed by this, but when trying to move his wand inside his head a bit more slowly we would all see it hit him and it would actually decurse him.

Similarly, I was partied with a mage and we were doing some kill quests in the overworld around Highsteppe. Both of us out of aggro range and not moving, he’d pull with a fireball. I’d see it soar right over the mob’s head and keep going, but on his screen he’d have hit it, and indeed he’d have aggro’ed it cause he did hit it, but I would see the spells keep flying till they vanished naturally as if he’d missed.

The mage missiles seeming to miss thing is a different issue and I don’t think it should affect this particular bug. Like I said if someone sees it happen in-game and can give me a pretty precise timestamp I should be able to see exactly what happened either way (e.g. the Decurse never even happened because they missed, the Decurse happened but removed a different effect, the decurse happened but the poison got re-applied immediately for some reason, etc.)

What might be happening is you see the poison effect around you, poison is then applied, then you decurse. If you decurse between the effect and poison application (as in as soon as the effect shows up before the poison) you will have poison.

Wish I had noted them time, but I saw Cam get poisoned, and Cam and Sift decursed Cam 3 times real fast in a row and the poison never decursed. Correct me if I’m wrong, but decurse only removes the negative effects on the player that can be decursed? In this instance the poison.

It can also remove friendly buffs from bosses/mobs, it could be possible that it’s some how incorrectly doing it to friendly targets too, possibly getting rid of shared streak buff or renew or something instead of the poison
