round about 2-3 Weeks ago i saw the name above the head or the symbol over enemys clear and from round about 20 meter far away.
Since the patch 3.50 and further it’s impossible for me to read the names and when i walking around in unkonw areas it’s hard for me to see the level from the enemys befor they will attack me. I have to go to people to nearly 2-3 m to see the guild or the name.
i didn’t change something at my vive. No new divers, no new glasses or anything. My graficoptions are still on the highes level.
The unsharp look is only at Orbus. i tested my other vr games without any changes.
I agree too. I would like to see party player names font doubled or even tripled. It is quite amusing to see the size of guild fellowship names, yet player name size is so limited. Plus double the size of the threat level symbol on the monsters to make them easier to see from a safe distance.
I played during Alpha and then after 3.5 and I can attest that you seem to have to get really close to be able to discern mob difficulty or player names. I wonder if there’s something we all share in common? Would PC specs or platform usage help work this out?
I’m trying to figure out if this happened to lots of people or just a few is what I’m saying. The other people responding in the thread haven’t been clear about if they agree it actually changed from clear to blurry, or if they just think it’s too hard to see it from far away in general. Those are two different things so I’m just trying to get clarification.
I haven’t noticed any changes personally so it might be only happening on some configurations and not others, for example. If that’s the case I need to know more about it.
Could you take a screenshot of what it looks like to you? Just curious if it looks way different…
Also is it always blurry even when you get close, or is it just blurry from far away?
I haven’t been playing for long, but I have an extremely hard time reading text until it is right in from of me.
Even with my super sampling up to 1.6, I can’t ready signs or player or enemy names at all until it seems to hit a threshold pretty close where the text suddenly becomes much more sharp and clear. Not just the edges of the text, but it seems to be a little translucent before getting close as well.
It looks like there’s no anti-aliasing being applied to the text, basically.
At any rate, in general, I will look into this and see if we can make it readable from farther away, I’m just not sure that it had anything specific to do with the 3.50 patch…
That would’ve been on standard but I don’t notice a difference between standard and ultra honestly. I have no idea if it has anything to do with that patch either, I shouldn’t have piggybacked that from the original thread. I’m not exactly sure when it started for me, but it was pretty recently because I noticed it on the mob difficulty icons first. I cleaned my headset lens and my glasses 3-4 times before just believing it was always like that and I was crazy.
I’ve only been playing for a little over a week; so I’m not sure if it’s my imagination or not, but I feel like i was able to read text a little better when I first started playing compared to now. Could be my imagination though.
Just wanted to chime in, and I too noticed that around Patch 3.50 time text over player’s heads had suddenly gone from legible at a distance to pixelated & illegible unless I’m right up close.
I run Orbus with Standard graphics, no change there.
And my SteamVR supersampling for Orbus has always been 1.0.
1080Ti 11Gb superclocked black edition.
And FWIW, I have not updated my NVIDIA drivers in between noticing the change.
It does look like the text is no longer AA at a distance.
