I am still walking through the dlc in snail pace, but seeing what incredible pet you can get, I am already sold! #NotBiased  …

Spiderling accent dye not showing correctly on the AH

Not sure if this has been reported or not but when you hold the scrolls you can’t read them cause your fist sits in the middle, not at the edge

It also happens with lore quests from ages ago too

From what I’ve seen this DLC is just a big disappointment.

Climbing aspect which was probably the coolest part ends up being a bust. I believe the Devs said you’d have to use both hands to climb but that’s false bc you can only use one hand and then to create a “falling” aspect you just have to let go for 5 sec or so and you teleport to the start :expressionless: like really… we can’t even fall? The idea was great but the product rushed out is just lame and disappointing.

I haven’t seen them all but I have looked at a lot of the transmogs and well the pet is worth keeping but the rest is just trash and like no one cared to put effort into the designs

Let me just say this it’s ABOUT TIME there is some kind of mob variety instead of copied and pasted mobs with texture changes but let’s be honest there still needs more and should’ve been in the game at launch.

From what I heard all the mini zones are around the Highsteppe area? Way to create some travel and adventure around the entire world yet you decide to shove it all in the starting location? Just laughable.

Also the amount of bugs upon release like holy crap can y’all release something that’s actually complete and not broken and stop rushing things out for once?
Y’all use players as free testers and that crap is annoying. When y’all announce things I wait about two weeks to a month before attempting the newer content bc it’s bug filled and players like @Scott and @Rickness_Voidwalker are always there to report which nothing against them bc they are great players just they and other players shouldn’t be used as testers, they should be tested properly before being released but never seem to be.

When Abandon mines and Ancient Temple releases one play through you could tell it was so incredibly broken I mean you couldn’t even walk across a bridge… like y’all didn’t notice you couldn’t cross a bridge?! Or you didn’t test it bc you knew your players would report it which is kinda sad. I get players should report bugs found and that’s great and all but it’s as if you RELY on your players to find and report all your bugs bc y’all don’t do proper testing.

Overall the DLC is just disappointing. It definitely reflects the amount of effort and attention to detail from the dev team and just shows how little they care about improving the game quality.

Rather than fixing what you have you’d rather add more broken content. For what? What’s the point of trying to put hours and hours into a game when it’s as broken as Orbus is?

I only care to voice my opinion bc I’ve put a lot of time and dedication into Orbus and stuff like this is just a back hand to us players who have been around and supported them since Old Orbus.

This is normal @Morfran the bugs, in alot of games without 100 devs. There aren’t even that bad bugs this time because I seen almost no-one complain in the first hours from something game breaking (except for the oculus quest problem, which was fixed fast). If I understand correctly you call the whole DLC disappointing with the only reason being seeing some bugs? That disappoints me that this is the only thing you can see.

Edit: Was wrong, Morfran talked about more, see posts below it.

In my opinion, the DLC itself is better than the base game. That being said, most of the enemies are just reused from Preborn (meaning they also did have the variety of enemies in the base game). It’s been common knowledge that Reborn was a mistake. Still though, I absolutely loved the DLC and it was 100% worth the 10 dollars. It had an actual story with plenty of exploring and fun quests, and there was even some silly cosmetics to grind for. I see nothing wrong with this.

Also, regarding this

Do remember that each mini zone is about the size of an entire normal zone once you’ve shrunk down. To me it sounds like you’ve hardly touched it, or not touched it at all. I suggest before you give an opinion on something, you should at least experience it first hand.

What the heck are you even talking about? Reborn was beta and the Reborn is fully launched base game where those mobs were removed MEANING they weren’t in the base game anymore and there was no mob variety? That was just an ignorant statement.

In Reborn the lore has always been janky and just thrown off after destroying what decent story they had in Old School so me personally I stopped caring for it bc it’s like the person writing it doesn’t even care for it.

And you’re seriously gonna tell me you want to grind for those transmogs? If anyone ever uses them it’s to purposely look dumb and laughable and not bc you honestly like them and think they look cool.

Every time you look at a gear set I want you to compare it to old school gear sets like the old school raid gear and you’ll realize how basic and plain all the gear is. It’s poorly designed.

That’s cool that when shrunk the zones are the size of normal zones however doesn’t change the fact they could have spread them out across the world to create adventure, not sure what your point was with that one.

@Scott did you even read what I said? I didn’t point out only bugs my man.

Literally started with climbing mechanics then moved on to transmog designs, then mob variety, then mini zone locations to create more adventure, and THEN the bugs.

Fair. The vibe I got from you was annoyance of bugs. Talking about the other things I disagree with them all:

A thing you mentioned was expecting an over romanticized version of climbing where you don’t take into account motion sickness. Being disappointed by climbing not being really realistic in every aspect I don’t have the sentiment in that… It is not that big part of the DLC anyway.

The transmogs is a matter of opinion. I am a fan of absurd stupid outfits. Makes me smile. I don’t want to get badass outfits anyway from something like a story, that would not fit at all… Lets get that from the next raid

Being annoyed about mob variety makes no sense. There is a way better variety now and you are complaining about it because it was added too late?.. So that is just a + not a - point.

For the mini zones all in highsteppe, that is not taking into account that people who aren’t for example lvl 10 yet are suppose to be able to do the DLC already. Putting teleport spots outside highsteppe is just forcing them to become higher lvl. So that is the reason they added them all in Highsteppe.

I think there are alot of aspects missing in your review of the DLC. Like did you like the story? What about the environment itself? Cared about other aspects like the treasure map? I felt like you mentioned what you found bad even if it was a little thing. And for some of them it felt like nitpicking to make things seem worse then it is (like going off-topic from the dlc with other complaints). Because that is how you feel ATM.

Edit: Actually I don’t want this discussion to continue left and right on the Announcement thread with emotions  I let you say your stuff and I will :zipper_mouth_face: on the forums at-least.

I did take motion sickness into account and figured if falling from those small heights makes you motion sickness why are you even in VR? However that’s not a fair opinion so it can simply be fixed by allowing the real climbing aspect vs the one they have now with a new setting for it if it’s really gonna make people motion sick. For me a realistic climb and fall would make it more immersive and less childish.

Transmogs is definitely opinionated I’ll stand by mine and you can stand by yours. But saying badass gear shouldn’t come from a story line doesn’t add up to me, like why? Can badass gear only come from dungeons or raids? Why can’t there be a badass storyline gear? I mean there was a sweet fishing gear outfit in old school so why not a story line one? How does that not fit? I mean it’s part of the game so I think it fits.

Mob Variety could have been left out but I mean let’s be honest it should’ve been part of the base game.

Shouldn’t they want players to go out and become higher level? I mean it’s not even that hard… A couple hours of grinding daily’s and Public Events you can get to 30 easy if not multiple classes. From what i see is I see a lot of queens ear newbs so people are clearly buying and playing the game a bit but do they stick around? Like the Devs should want them to go out and level and play the game bc that’s the point I thought, to play the game and progress through it.

Like I told Cody above I looked into the lore but quickly stopped caring bc it’s like the author of the lore didn’t care about it himself.

The environments looked nice as well as the new mobs so hats off there :clap:t2:

The treasure map is definitely a great idea and concept but it’s current state I heard is buggy but it will be fixed so no worries on that one. However idk how worthwhile the “treasure” is yet, still a great idea and has a lot of potential tbh. They could now make a whole new set of “lottery” items in game like overworld drops but instead incorporate it into the treasure drops at the same type of drop rates.

i enjoyed the dlc environment but i cant get the other 2 zones quest until i beat catching fireflies not the guild the event quest to catch fireflies

I’ve really enjoyed playing through the DLC, I think the Dev Dudes has done a great job with it and I hope to see more of this stuff out in the overworld in the future which they have already stated that they are planning on doing based off the feedback from the DLC so to me, this is all good news for the game

I think the Strawberry gear is super cute, Burn and buckyboi are totally rocking it too! A lot of the transmogs are good tbh

this is simply false, not even an opinion. Have you seen the attention to detail in the DLC? There is so much more detail than the regular reborn zones and content and it very clearly shows how much effort they put into it and also shows thet they’re on the right path to improving the game.

all I’m gonna say, I don’t want to argue right now.

I liked the DLC. I would also like to be able to fall of the climbing vine or the rope climbing. Perhaps it could be an option we can enable somewhere in the menu.
Now to answer what caught my eye… If I remember reading correctly in some other post of the dev’s at one point, They were suggesting having multiple DLC’s, so I can imagine that the next DLC might have 4 mini worlds in Lmavora and the next DLC might have them in Hultine’s Basin…etc. I’m sure they have a plan so I am trying to stay open minded.

I love the old mobs that they brought back. Some parts of or all of Old Orbus might be cool as a DLC also…
Lastly, I love that Chair Mount!

Me neither actually. Let’s take it as personal opinions, some like the dlc, some not - with the little cute thingies in and all I actually thought especially many ‘tough’ guys find all silly, but afais that is the minority  . I listed a ton of ideas I really liked.

Also I do like the climbing feature, just as it is. I mean “fall damage” would be pretty alien to Orbus imo, you can throw your hammer up and low to places already and never take damage. It does not fit into the rest of game mechanics, at all, but that’s just my impression. Climbing is a mere fun-feature which should be fairly easy - I do like the climb-down button, as well, one time is enough… - since mostly you simply wanna get from a to b to do something, and do this several times, quickly. Some ropes in the 2nd zone are already a bit too lengthy too climb for me since I wanna venture back and forth in a zone without that obstacle.
If I wanna exhaust myself with a climbing activity I play games focusing on that, btw not even Climb which does that got a real “falling” feature, because of the already mentioned stress on motion sickness in vr.

If someone does not like questing, escorts, transmog collecting (btw not everything has to be super-serious and “cool” lookin, these are hilarious… like the cat ears are, like the fishing bow was, people are wearing that stuff exactly because of the silly look  ) and those cute, but useless thingies like the pet, then, and only then the dlc is just not for him or her, that is pretty true.

That was my thought also… I don’t know if they stick to the shrinking-theme, at all, but if they do, then making the next dlcs take place in other zones would make sense.

someone shot my mimic mob and now myself and a random user shot it and now myself and other user are permanent stuck in combat had to force close to fix it and dead mimic still there runimng would
be nice to have mimic local to the user who open the chest

Having begun, but not finished the DLC, this is what i have to say;

Cosmetics; Thus far, from what ive seen, im not the biggest fan. They certainly dont fit the kind of style i go for in my outfits, and with dyes being expensive and consumable, i find myself rarely able to freely switch between outfits for fun. I can see and understand how others would like the new stuff, but my biggest hangup is that you pretty much cant mix and match DLC stuff with non-DLC stuff due to the designs of the DLC stuff being so different from non-DLC stuff.

Climbing; Its very cool, and i hope that as i go thru the story more that it is actively used more on the main story of the DLC, and id very much love and hope that things are added to the Overworld to climb.

Appearance and World Design; I can tell alot of care was put into most parts of the designs. the buildings look better than anything in highsteppe. I hope down the line, -after the devs take a look at the classes-, they take a look at the overworld and put in detail to the same degree as they did in the DLC areas.
I like the mob variety, with my fav in the first area being the ones that burrow, even if they attack in frequently and in packs, which can get old. My only issue with the monsters tho is that there ALOT of them, more and in large packs than -feels- right.
Edit; oh one other thing i have a nitpick on; the scaling is way off when you shrink. In the Critter Capture store when you shrink the first time, you shrink a certain amount, but when you do it in the first zone, you shrink WAY smaller than you did the first time, and its rather jarring. The player isnt told why you shrink to two different sizes and it feels odd and off. the stump comes up to Pierre’s knees, so in the distance, if the shrinking is the same both times, the stump shouldnt be as tall as a mountain, unless the size you shrink to is, in universe, different each time. If it is, then the player should be told that by an NPC.

Story; Thus far its not bad. I find it a bit silly, but its interesting. I just wish i knew more of the Lore to really understand the nature and gravity of the reason behind the lizard people existence. As far as im aware, little is really told to the play, even in overworld Lore Quests, about the history of the world we play in. I only have a vague idea, having not played PreBorn.

Overall, i like is thus far, theres cool elements, but in the end you frequently encounter bugs or silly things that make me sad and remind me that the game is Orbus. There are things that feel weird, or sound weird, or behave weird that just continually remind me of how the game at large, even in a new DLC, still feels like its in Early Access. I just hope that as we continue along, the Devs keep working to make sure that when the day comes that Orbus isnt the only VRMMO on the block, Orbus doesnt just shrivel up and die.

@Devs please continue to take player feedback about the things we go on and on about to improve the game so it can last a very, very long time. If you dont, well then who knows.

-From a Player that loves the game

Oh also, @Mathieu_D, when i tried to do a quest in the first zone to escort and protect a lizardman while he was foraging, at a certain point he got stuck and wouldnt keep walking no matter what we did. He kept doing the gathering animation but wouldnt keep moving. Me and my party went ‘to graveyard’ to try and reset him, but that didnt even reset him. We didnt check, but suspect he’s still stuck in that same spot under that mushroom.

There’s a book describing the story of old Orbus in your player house on a bench in the hallway. I’m not sure if you’ve read it or not but it’s a brief summary of what went down.
